NJCAA Sports

CBC rejoined the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA), the governing body of intercollegiate athletics for two-year colleges, in 2007, to compete in men’s basketball and women’s volleyball. Since that time, the college has added men’s soccer and baseball, plus women’s softball and basketball. The college now boasts six full-time sports programs for student athletes. CBC membership in NJCAA provides its students an opportunity to compete at a collegiate level against other teams in the region. NJCAA’s programs are designed to meet the needs of a diverse group of student-athletes from varied backgrounds who have chosen to attend a two-year college as the next step in their education. Given this perspective, the NJCAA accepts its responsibility for providing a competitive environment that is free from drug and substance abuse. This effort in turn helps to support a sportsmanlike, competitive environment that is both wholesome and healthy.

CBC Athlete Benefits

Participation in competitive sports provides several benefits to student athletes including:  Opportunity to participate in team sports;  Earning recognition for athletic and leadership skills;  Maintaining an active lifestyle which promotes physical fitness;  An additional year or two to mature and develop skills;  The possibility of catching the eye of a college scout;  Dorm scholarships to eligible participants;
