Explaininghowitcametobe,Tiffany said,“Honestly,Istartedbringing[film]tothe weddingsjustbecauseIloveit.Imentioned tothecoupleswhatIwasdoing,andsomeof themwereactuallyinterested.at’swhenI beganofferingthehybridoptiontocouples.”

Fouryearsago,DanielleMalone—theownerandsolecreative behindNovemberClay—assumedshe’dbesolidlyinanotherindustry atthispoint. Shewantedtobemoreavailabletoherson,andrealestate seemedlikeagoodoptionforbalancingthedemandsofworkand homelife.Butthen—aswasthecaseformany—theCOVID-19pandemichitandderailedherplans.

DuringasessionofInstagramscrolling,Daniellecameacrossa pairofprettyclayearrings.epricetagwasoff-putting,andasalifelongcrafter,sheknewshecouldmakeapairherself,atafractionofthe cost.So,shewenttothecraftstoreandpurchasedpolymerclayand othersupplies.

“WhenIfirststarted,clayearringsweren’treallyabigtrend.Iwas usingcookiecutters,medicinecapsandX-actoknivestomakeshapes, anditwastrial-and-error,sinceatthetimenothingwasreallyavailable forproduction,”saidDanielle,“ButImadeafewpairsandpostedthem onInstagram.Ihadmaybe15to20friendswhoalljustlovedthemand wantedmetomakemore.”

ItwasatthispointthatDanielleandherhusbandrealizedthis couldbeaviablebusiness,andinAugustof2020,NovemberClaywas born.

Creatingeachpairofearringsbyhandistime-consuming.With 200to300earringscreatedforeachdrop,itmadesensetokeepthe newreleasesonamonthlyschedulesoshestillhastimeforfamily.

Ratherthansendtheirguests homewithstandardfavoroptions,Lexi andMarktookthetimetohandwritea personallettertoeachoftheguests, andplacedthemattheirtablesetting. Guestswereabletoreadthelettersbeforethecouplewereannouncedatthe

Aftertheirweddingweekend,the twoheadedtohistoricLewesforseveralquietnightsattheInnonCanal. Fortheirfirstweddinganniversary, theyrecreatedtheirmini-moonby stayinginthesameroom,eatingat theirfavoriterestaurantsandspending theafternoonattheirfavoritebeachin CapeHenlopenStatePark.
