At its meeting on June 26th, the City Commission passed a resolution to rename parts of NE 24th Street, NE 30th Avenue, NE 31st Avenue and NE 48th Street along the Intracoastal Waterway as Intracoastal Drive. Two Lighthouse Point residents were behind this innovative initiative… Premier Estate Properties Estate Agent, Kevin Kreutzfeld, and former mayor, Leo Bentz. The idea surfaced during a conversation between the two, in which Kevin mentioned, “You could be living on Intracoastal Drive. Enhance the prestige of the street and the neighborhood, and it could help increase property values.” This is only the beginning of a comprehensive street-renaming plan for the entire city soon to be presented to the commission. The reason is clear. There is far more appeal to living on a street with a name.
