INTRODUCTION

Welcome to BDM Construction, a new start up business established in June 2023. The company was formed by Joe Bonner, John Duffy and Paul McDevitt who all previously worked for a leading Tier 2 Main Contracting business operating in London and Southeast.

BDM Constructions core business is demolition, groundworks, drainage, all substructure works, reinforced concrete frames and hard landscaping projects within the M25.

We also provide clients with a one stop shop for any early works such as removal and installation or hoarding, services disconnections or diversions, demolition including asbestos removal, all groundworks, foundations, drainage, RC Frames, hard landscaping and all S278 works.

Further into this capability document you will find a list of current and previously completed projects that were successfully delivered by BDM’s founding Directors. We are keen to meet and advise Developers, Main Contractors, Housing Associations and Councils seeking to secure a strong team to deliver challenging packages to the highest standards of quality delivering within budget and programme.

Joe Bonner

Pre-Construction Director

Joe is the Pre-Construction Director at BDM Construction. Joe has a wealth of Pre-construction / Business Development experience and has been securing contracts ranging from £5m to £120m nationwide over the past decade. Joe leads the preconstruction team which will consist of business development activities, client relationships, pipeline development, estimating & bid writing and ultimately timely submissions of high-quality winning tenders up to contract award and Site procession.

John Duffy Commercial Director

John is the Commercial Director at BDM Construction. John has extensive knowledge of delivering Groundwork and RC Frame projects from £1m to £25m, from small mixed use projects to large heavy civil projects, including high rise residential projects up to 34-storeys.

John has added the delivery of full turnkey main contracting for some of London’s largest developers, ranging from 60-unit residential developments to over 300-unit projects with values ranging from £20m to £105m.

John will be responsible for all commercial aspects on the project including negotiating price and heads of terms for all work secured and procurement of all subcontractor packages and material and plant as deemed required for any self-delivery elements.

Construction Director

Paul is the Construction Director at BDM Construction. Paul has previously delivered Groundwork and Reinforced Concrete Frames from £500k to £25m on multiple phased residential projects up to 15 storeys in height. Paul comes from a trade background and has worked his way up to his current position by delivering the above sized projects for some of London’s largest developers. Paul has also delivered full turnkey main contracting projects up to 100 Residential units and will be responsible for all Health & Safety and Project delivery.

Client: CFeld Construction

Completed: All Groundworks, Drainage and hard landscaping for client Cfield Construction who are building two residential buildings, one 14 storey block of 98 residential units and one 11 storey block of 78 residential units.

AINTREE RD, PERIVALE

Aintree Rd, Perivale

Client: Elliott Group

Currently Delivering: Excavation and removal of all necessary earthworks to allow for the construction of all foundation works which include Concrete Pad footings, Ground Beams, lift base, concrete and groundworks associated with the installation of the ground floor and mezzanine slab as well as all works associated with the installation of attenuation tanks and drainage. Works also include new roads, paths and paving.

RUNNYMEDE HOTEL, EGHAM

Runnymede Hotel, Egham

Client: Elliott Group

Currently delivering: Site Clearance / Strip excavation, piling matts, piling attendances, membranes, disposal, formwork, breaking back piles, foundations, waterproofing, kerbs, sub-bases, tarmac, road markings, drainage trenches, attenuation tanks, surveys, testing and commissioning within the grounds of the Runnymede Hotel for Main Contractor Elliott Group who are building a new Auditorium and Bedroom Block Extension.

Quayside Lodge, Fulham

Client: CField Construction

Currently Delivering: We are very proud to be appointed to deliver all external and hard landscaping works for Main Contractor CField Construction on their prestigious 110 units residential development overlooking the Thames in Fulham.

Value of works: £180,000

Former Richmond Royal Hospital – Richmond Square

Client: IP Project & Commercial Management Ltd

Delivering: BDM Construction have secured all works associated with drainage, slab infill and hard landscaping works at the former Richmond Royal Hospital (Now Richmond Square) in the conservation area of Richmond Upon Thames. This is a complex and challenging project for our client Issott Partnership to convert the historic RRH into 56 high end luxury private plus 15 affordable homes.

Little Dukes Nursery School –

Princedale Road, Holland Park

Client: Quinn London Ltd

Delivering: BDM Construction have secured all works associated with alterations to existing car parking arrangements plus hard landscaping and ancillary works at Little Dukes Nursery school for our client Quinn London. This is challenging project due to the tight logistics of the project plus the challenges we face working in the borough of Kensington & Chelsea.

45 Clapham Common, South Side

Client: London Realty

We are delighted to share that we have secured our first project with Developer London Realty and Lambeth College. Both London Realty and Lambeth College have partnered to demolish the existing buildings and the phased re-development of the site incorporating a basement car/cycle park, the erection of seven buildings comprised of lower ground floor, ground and ranging between six and thirteen upper storeys and landscaped gardens for a mixed use scheme comprised of a replacement gateway education facility, nursery and the provision of residential units including a mix of studios, 1, 2, 3 and 4 bedroom units.

Delivering: BDM Constructions early works package prior to the appointment of the chosen Main Contractor includes Utility surveys / scans & required disconnections, Civilise the site area – tree / shrub / street furniture removal, Reduce level dig, construct pad foundations for various Modules, erect permanent site hoarding, Install infrastructure for temporary modules – BT, Water, Electricity, remove existing 2No. marquees, form base and connect for temporary plant, Oversee installation of temporary modules, provide supervision for module installation and fit out, oversee the removal of the nursery play area and creation of new play area and obtain all relevant statutory sign offs.

45 CLAPHAM COMMON, SOUTH SIDE

Kelaty House, Wembley

Client: Watkin Jones

Delivered: Groundworks and Reinforced Concrete Frames to create a 300-bed aparthotel and 699-bed student accommodation scheme arranged across five buildings ranging in height from 4 to 13 storeys. Located within the immediate vicinity of Wembley Football Stadium.

Marshgate House, Stratford

Delivered: Ground works and Reinforced Concrete Frames to create 75 apartments and commercial space over two blocks ranging in height from 7-13 storeys.

MARSHGATE HOUSE, STRATFORD

Millpond, Dartford

Client: Weston Homes

Delivered: Ground works and Reinforced Concrete Frames over eight blocks ranging in height from 8-12 storeys.

This large groundworks and RC frame package was successfully completed over phased works.

MILLPOND, DARTFORD

WESTFERRY PRINTWORKS

Westferry Printworks Package 2

Client: Northern Shell / Westferry Developments Ltd

Delivered: Main basement dig (18205m2), the install of the 700 linear metres of sheet piles, (492 sheet piles). Install of a dewatering system and excavation of the 82,830m3+ of muck out.

This involved the development of a logistics plan dealing with over 150 muck away wagons per day.

All the works were completed on time within the 37-week programme.

Value of works: £7m

Islington Square, London

Client: Galliard Homes

Delivered: Groundworks, drainage and reinforced concrete frame works up to 10 storeys over 6 blocks with triple basement in parts along with concrete refurbishment works to existing buildings.

This construction contract was worth £100m+ to Galliard. After the groundworks and RC frame were completed Galliard went on to deliver 263 residential apartments, 108 serviced apartments, 170,000ft2 of retail and restaurants along with a health club and cinema.

Health & Safety Policy Statement

Policy and Principles

BDM Construction Services Ltd is committed to creating and maintaining a healthy and safe working environment for its employees, contractors, clients, visitors and members of the public. We recognise our obligations in relation to health, safety and welfare wherever we carry out our activities

BDM Construction Services Ltd manages its health & safety using an Occupational Health & Safety Management in accordance with relevant legislation, regulation and other requirements with policies, procedures and processes in place to support this.

Occupational health and safety is led by senior management at BDM Construction Services Ltd, who are committed to continual improvement of the organisation’s health and safety performance, management system, and reporting. We actively encourage feedback from all levels of the organisation as well as the supply chain and partners.

We commit to the hierarchy of controls over occupational safety and health including, as a minimum, legal compliance with relevant health and safety statutory obligations. We are also committed to the prevention of accidents, ill-health, dangerous occurrences and injury in the workplace to all persons that may be affected directly or indirectly by our activities, including, as a minimum, legal compliance of relevant health & safety legislation.

The purpose of the Policy is to promote a pro-active approach in the prevention of accidents, ill-health, dangerous occurrences, and injury in the workplace This will be achieved, so far as is reasonably practicable, by the identification of hazards, the elimination of foreseeable risk and the management of residual risk, thus providing safe systems of work and compliance with relevant Statutory Acts, Regulations and applicable Codes of Practice.

The co-operation of those employed or contracted by BDM Construction Services Ltd in ensuring the Policy is effective and the responsibility of each individual to take reasonable care for the health and safety of himself/herself and those who may be affected by his/her acts or omissions at work are legal obligations. BDM Construction Services Ltd insists that these obligations are met and any breach of any aspect of this Policy will be regarded as a serious breach. BDM Construction Services Ltd recognises the provision of adequate financial resources, training and supervision is essential to ensure all managers and employees are properly able to discharge their responsibilities under this Policy, wherever possible.

Joe Bonner, John Duffy and Paul McDevitt are the Directors responsible for health, safety and welfare matters on behalf of the company They will ensure as far as reasonably practicable that the Policy is implemented through the Health, Safety, Environment & Quality procedures that are in place and are required to be followed by all parties

BDM Construction Services Ltd employs an external Health and Safety Consultant, Devs Safety Ltd, that provide guidance and advice on all aspects of health, safety and welfare and arrange with management for the training of employees and conduct inspections and audits of the businesses activities as necessary. Monitoring the effectiveness of the Policy is the responsibility of the company director who will ensure that the Policy is reviewed, at least annually, recommending any necessary material changes to implemented

BDM Construction Services Ltd will consult with all relevant interested parties with respect to health, safety, and welfare in accordance with Statutory Requirements to ensure that all necessary measures are taken to make the Policy effective.

The Policy, detailing information on the organization as well as arrangements and other supporting documents required for its implementation is available for inspection on all sites or upon request.

Environment & Sustainability Policy Statement

Policy and Principles

We recognize that to be a long-term successful business we need to be a sustainable business. In everything we do, we strive to create opportunity for our people, clients and communities while preserving resources; however, we also understand that sustainability is about striking a critical balance between commercial success and responsibility to society and the environment.

At BDM Construction Services Ltd we are committed to a multifaceted strategy that targets risk awareness & management, competence, common standards of excellence, conscientious behavior, and continuous improvement, at the same time engaging with our stakeholders in a collaborative and supportive manner.

We operate an Integrated Management System (IMS) that comprises the Health & Safety, Environment & Quality Manual together with supporting documentation supplied in the company Starter Pack. It sets out the procedures to be adopted in procuring, executing and concluding our works in line with our H&S, quality and environmental objectives. This is made available to public and external parties on request. Our significant Environmental Impacts will be communicated to external parties on request or as the Directors see fit.

Environmental Objectives

We are committed to continually improve both our environmental performance and the enhancement of Client satisfaction. To achieve this we will maintain and regularly review the effectiveness of our Integrated Management System. We will set objectives as part of our annual Management Review and communicate these to the company.

Management Commitment

The management has a continuing commitment to:

1. Keeping abreast of and complying with legislation, regulations and codes of practice on environmental matters relevant to our activities.

2. Reducing the environmental impacts of our activities by identification of significant environmental impacts and adopting reasonable controls.

3. Setting annual environmental objectives and targets, and monitoring performance against these objectives and targets.

4. Making use of opportunities to minimise waste and to reuse or recycle materials.

5. Communicating our environmental policies, plans and performance to the public and other interested parties.

6. Training employees and promoting environmental awareness and commitment.

The Company’s Directors, who take responsibility for its execution and share responsibility for the implementation of this policy, endorse this statement.
