Arts How to Play Piano by Ear with Craig Coffman Expand your musical horizons, free yourself from sheet-music dependence, and be the life of the party! You can learn one of music’s deepest mysteries: how to play songs without relying on music. This class is about practical presentation of music theory that includes predicting chord progressions, learning from recordings, and transposing all expressed in everyday language. Summer Computer Series for Adults More Topics in Microsoft Word Take a more in-depth look at formatting, cut and paste, drag and drop, and spell check in Microsoft 2010. Recommended for those who wish to attend Getting Creative in Word. Date Thursday, Aug 16 Using Email You will be introduced to email and learn how to type, edit, send and receive email, delete unwanted mail, create contacts, use the address book and send attachments. Professional Development Completing the Application with Jay Lane Complete your individual application in this final session in the grant writing series. A peer review and discussion session, along with individual instruction will occur. All aspects of budgeting and evaluation of grant applications will be discussed. Finally, the class will be given information on what occurs after a grant award is received, the proper way of dealing with staff, as well as reporting and compliance issues. Researching the Grant Opportunity with Jay Lane Get started with the research ― the first of three sessions in a grant writing series. This class will be dedicated to research on local, state, Federal and private funding opportunities. Students will be shown how to obtain the necessary information in order to match their organization's needs to potential funding agencies. There will be time to explore the thousands of Federal and private foundation sites, as well as examine the state and local funding possibilities. At the end of the class, every student will have selected a grant agency and conducted the necessary research in order to match their organization's needs with that of the funder. Whitewater Creek (Catron County, New Mexico) is a unique feature in southwestern New Mexico that presents an always vibrant journey along a path reflecting the local mining history. Our final destination, the Catwalk, follows a path of the pipeline built in the 1890s to deliver water to the mining town of Graham. Today, metal walkways are bolted to the steep canyon walls. Twenty feet below the metal grates of the Catwalk is the exhilarating view of the swiftly flowing water. Join us for a totally unique experience to see the historic canyon hideouts of Geronimo and Butch Cassidy and the beautiful pink volcanic rocks of the canyon’s sidewalls. There will be an approximate 2.2-mile hike round-trip and some climbing on stairs with a handrail. For ages 12 and above. Bring lunch and water bottle (water will be provided). Other essentials of the course are contained in the 10 core ACLS cases: respiratory arrest, pulseless ventricular fibrillation/ventricular tachycardia (VF/VT) treated with an AED, VF/VT refractory to initial defibrillation, pulseless electrical activity, asystole, acute coronary syndromes, bradycardia, stable tachycardia, unstable tachycardia and acute ischemic stroke. Students successfully completing the knowledge and skills evaluations in accordance with the curriculum of this AHA course are eligible to receive the ACLS course completion card. *This is a two-day class. Wellness Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) Recertification with Neil Gago Get recertified and refresh your knowledge about the skills necessary to evaluate and manage the first 10 minutes of a witnessed adult ventricular fibrillation cardiac arrest. This course covers the skills and didactic information needed to handle a cardiac arrest.
