How to Fix a Rust Spot on a Car
1. Wear saftey equipment to avoid injury.(Dust mask, goggles, gloves.)
2. Cover up parts of the vehicle that you dont want to get scratched or dust on.(Use newspaper with scotch painters tape.)
3. Remove the rust from the area you are trying to restore. (Use a power sander, or a grinding wheeel that you can purchase from any hardware store.)
4. Purchase a sandable primer that can be sprayed onto metal. Also a can of paint closest to the vehicles true color.
5. The next step would
be to prepare the spot for primer.(Use a clean rag with lacquer thinner on it to wipe the surface.)
9. Then spray the
color that you purchased over the area that was primed with multiple coats.(Spray 6 away.)
11. Next step would be to remove the newspaper and tape carefully.
6. Then spray 2 to 3 coats of primer on the spot. (Allow a few minutes to dry between each coat.)
7. Let dry for 6 hours.
8. Next step is to rub sandpaper over the primed area to smooth out the surface.(Use wet 600 grit sandpaper.) 10. Let dry for 24 hours.
12. Last step would be to wash and buff your car. (Enjoy your new car.)
