There are two accounting majors available: managerial accounting and public accounting. The public accounting major is tailored for students pursuing the Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation and satisfies the 150-semester-hour requirement to become a CPA. Managerial accounting is for those who wish to work in a certain industry or nonprofit.
