& around the world
The visual and performing arts majors at Coe College include art, art history, film studies, music and theatre arts. Everyone in these majors will have ample opportunity to create, exhibit and perform in spaces on campus and during a period of off campus study. In fact, we encourage you to study away from campus to gain different perspectives both in the United States or abroad. NEW YORK TERM Through coursework, you’ll be immersed in the culture and arts of New York City including dance, theatre, music, visual art and film. WASHINGTON, D.C. TERM You’ll complete one course credit, an internship and an internship seminar. Friday afternoons are set aside for trips to tour government offices, historical sites, landmarks, museums or other remarkable attractions.
LONDON AND FLORENCE: ARTS IN CONTEXT This interdisciplinary program focuses on the arts: the visual arts — architecture, painting and sculpture; and the literary arts — theatre and literature. FLORENCE: ARTS, HUMANITIES & CULTURE The Florence program will allow you to be part of the city with an immersive experience highlighting Florence’s extraordinary legacy of Renaissance art and culture.
These types of experiences will help you build a strong resume while you’re a student, helping you start your career or grad school quickly after graduation.
