Welcome to our world...

This February at Hamilton House there’s a whole array of enticing events to get you off the sofa including that wonderful time of year ‘Valentines Day’. Love it or loath it the 14th Feb is deemed as the most romantic of days, and If you haven’t met your special someone yet why not come along to ‘Pulled’ a unique speed dating cookery class for singles presented by the Garlic Farm Field Kitchen.

Artist of the month... Ben Goodman In 2006 Ben bought a 150 year old Albion printing press and established the Mill Hill Press.

Calling all artists, why not fully embrace 2015 and put on your own exhibition in our dedicated gallery space. The Hamilton House gallery is an ideal place to show your artwork or host an exhibition of any kind. We’ve had a variety of artworks and exhibtions on display here from professional artists and photographers to collectives of the non-art kind, and even a tipi show! Hamilton House Gallery strives to support emerging artists throughout the community of Stokes Croft, Bristol and the wider world, and also to bring the world of fine art to the world of stokes Croft.

Twelve Months of Summer - Monthly showcase of the best acts from the acoustic scene pulled together by the sparkling Miss Rosina Buck (who is one such herself). Iron Eye - Radical dance music combo with 2 saxophones, breakbeat drums, clever arrangements and an in-your-face attitude all filling out the sound very nicely.

Canteen Hip Hop Session - Guest MCs and musicians join the rhythm section of the ultra-funky DeCyphers collective for a monthly exploration of all things hip (and, indeed, hop).

Hodmadoddery - Beguiling duo of first generation folk-hippies who play acoustic guitars with highly skilled fingers and sing traditional and contemporary folk songs.

Daan Temmink Trio - Did you know we had an award-winning Dutch film composer living in Bristol? And that he's also a pretty nifty jazz pianist in his own right? Now you do.

Explosive Nzakomba - Soukous-based grooves from these African Dance favourites.

Nasrudin - This super quintet of well-known Bath folkies tell their own captivating tales in beautiful arrangements of tunes from the Middle East and Central Europe. Canteen Jazz Session - An open jazz jam session for seasoned players to join the house trio and others in exploring classic jazz & latin tunes.

Mambo Jambo - There's something from every corner of the globe in the Mambo Jambo tune box and this lively and entertaining folk duo deliver it all.

Paper Moon - With singer Lucy Moon heading up this sizzling quintet, these seasoned jazzers eyes are firmly on the dance floor, as yours will be too!

Dakhla Brass - Uniquely fabulous (or fabulously unique) acoustic drum & brass outfit that summons the spirit of Balkan wedding bands and New Orleans marching hip-hop.

Decyphers With Horns - Their live hip-hop sessions at Canteen have become a regular treat and this specially selected supergroup is taking it to another level.

Railroad Bill - Lonnie Donegan says they're ‘bloody good' so don't miss this excellent skiffle band and expect the best punky folk-blues music of the 50s.

Leonie Evans - Lovely-voiced vocalist from Rae and other bands reveals her own idiosyncratically blues-inspired material. Jimi & Cuffy - This dazzlingly accomplished duo bring a rich contemporary 'mestizo' mix of Spanish, Latin and African music to Bristol with their shared love of flamenco.

Tots and Tales Kids Workshop

People who are passionate about peace and reconciliation are invited to watch Lekha Singh’s powerful documentry and particpate in workshop based on the film.

Tots & Tales brings stories to life in an hourlong session of dynamic games, songs, art and activities all based around well-known stories for children aged 2-6 years old. Each session we will explore a new story, learning, playing and creating together. With an art project each week, as well as handouts for parents with ideas for creative play, you can bring the magic back home with you!

In this 6 week course, experience the magic of North Indian Vegetarian Cookery. Exploring spices and masala mixes to equip you with everything you need to know to cook up a real indian feast. You will learn a range of techniques to prepare fragrant and complex main dishes, chutneys, raitas, indian breads, snacks and desserts and you will get to taste all of them along the way.

Exhibition Given to Live are live music project based in bristol, aiming to make live music accessible to all regardless of situation or circumstances.

Katy Christianson is a resident artist at the Drawn in Bristol studios at Hamilton House. Her work features wildlife from the British Isles and local areas. In her first solo exhibition Katy will aim to create 100 bird illustrations highlighting the diversity of British wildlife.

They will be putting on an art exhibition to help raise funds for their cause.

A cycle maintenance course over two Saturdays, tailored around your bike. Covering the most common repairs and the deeper workings of the bike.

A high energy class that will take you on a tour of Brazil from Rio to Salvador. Exploring movement styles from, Samba no pe, Afro Brazilian, to Samba Reggae.

Fitness Kings is a unique fitness/dance class which combines Zumba, Cubatone and Insanity moves to provide a cardio, toning, and resistance full-body workout.
