A.J. Holmes & The Hackney Empire Bamoko meets Barking in this chirpy cockney take on African rhythms like Hi-Life, soukous and Afrobeat. Orchestre du Montplaisant This London collective specialise in trawling the danceable possibilities of African grooves like soukous, Ethiopian funk and the lively Latin sounds of cumbia. Ruth Gordon Once Ruth Gordon's gentle voice starts telling you her intriguing stories you will want to stay to the end, lulled by her intricate ukulele or plaintive banjo. Canteen Jazz Session An open jazz jam session for seasoned players to join the house trio and others in exploring classic jazz & Latin tunes. Hillfolk Noir Lookee here - 100% original Junkerdash! Steeped in old-time viper-shuffling roots these crazy songs are slathered with saw, suitcase, washboard and‌whatever. The Milli-Meters We've seen past the Milli and we know who you are boys! These four rocking funksters can also be found in the New Orleans jazz-funk behemoth The Meters. Bombs London-based Bombs' mash up of soul, rock, triphop and turntableism is a recipe for some pretty flavoursome and highly individual post-psychedelia.

Brass Junkies

Get ready to dance as this dynamic 8 piece brass band (inspired by the funky Mardi Gras sounds of New Orleans) bring some carnival atmosphere to the place.

Zirigidium Massive Brazilian-style carnival drum band in the contemporary Monobloco style, complete with authentic Brazilian singers and even (on occasion) dazzlingly becostumed dancers.

Lindsay Lou & The Flatbellies This is the sound of the Great Lakes, apparently, and it's a delicious coming together of blues, country and all things Americana from this foursome. Slimline Henry Blues Session When harmonica guru Henry ‘Slimline' Slim blows that mean ol' harp you can be sure some of the best roots blues merchants will come a-runnin'. Free Live Music! We have a gig every night of the week and it's always free entry. Please see our website for full listings and further details. Dave Perry Trio

Cool and contemporary jazz outfit with Dave's nimble saxophone exploring some of his original material ably supported by excellent double bass and drums.

Forestears This psychedelic Indie concept also bring folk rock and lashings of shiny jazz ambience. It's all lovely stuff, epic pop with intelligence behind it, and catchy as you like.

Batch Gueye Band There's a contemporary electronic shine to Batch Gueye's songs but the eloquence of his Saharan dusted voice is still the same, as are the Senegalese M'balax roots.

What’s on This Month A Mindful Drawing Workshop 25th Jul, 10am-12.30pm, £20/£18/£15

This morning workshop will introduce you to some key skills for observational drawing such as line, ‘negative space’, and tone. However there will be an emphasis on encouraging the spacious mind state that allows your creativity to unfold. The art of drawing allows you to relax into the present moment, letting go of fixed ideas about how things should look or judgements about whether or not your artwork is “good”. Mindful drawing can help us to greater well-being: we feel more creative, more selfaccepting and become less hard on ourselves. Although outcome is less important than process, you will also find yourself drawing much more skilfully and more expressively by the end of the workshop. No previous experience of meditation, mindfulness or art is required.

Soothing Sundays Sundays, 2-5pm, £25

Low cost Holistic, Remedial and Deep Tissue Massage, Shiatsu, Reflexology, and Thai Yoga Massage by newly qualified therapists, located at the Wellbeing Centre in Hamilton House.

Come and meet the tutors and sample our approach to experiential teaching.

During this session we will look closely at “mailchimp”, forever free email marketing tool. This practical workshop aims to walk you from from basics of email marketing to creating email marketing strategy and suitable email marketing campaigns for your business.
