DCOTA SHOWROOM NEWS NEW AT DCOTA John Rosselli & Associates, Suite A-128 New Line: Bramalta John Rosselli & Associates is proud to introduce “Bramalta,” a textile company for designers. As technology is making products that were once considered the hallmark of the design professional available to everyone, Bramalta was created to counter this “commoditization” in the design industry. With a fresh take on traditional patterns from diverse cultures, Bramalta’s designs are easily personalized with quick turnarounds and low minimums through the harnessing of new technology. Bramalta offers the design professional the ability to distinguish their work and allow them to offer clients the ultimate luxury – a highly personalized environment. While the patterns can be ordered as shown, Bramalta is unique because the designs also have 3 easily changeable features: cloth, color and scale. With 5 different grounds in linen, cotton, and blends and over 3,000 standard colors, designers can make Bramalta their own private design resource. The scale of a design can also be easily changed to create coordinates to fit any project. Bramalta is only limited by a designer’s creativity.
After a successful launch of their flagship store in Los Angeles, Wired Custom Lighting chose DCOTA for the launch of their East Coast operations in the Fall of 2003. Longtime DCOTA alumni, George Graves, was tapped to head up the Florida operation and spent three months in Los Angeles training during the build out of the Florida Showroom. Twelve years later George finds himself in familiar territory, continuing to take the reins of this thriving endeavor toward further success. After Wired’s launch in Florida, the New York showroom opened in the D&D Building in 2008 quickly followed by locations in London, Dubai, and Moscow; giving Wired Custom Lighting a truly international presence in the world marketplace.

Gozdz, president and founder of Golden Age Living, LLC. for the Certified Aging-In-Place Specialist (CAPS) Designation and Universal Design/ Build Courses. In a three-course program, CAPS teaches the strategies and techniques for marketing, designing and building aesthetically enriching, barrier-free living environments. Going beyond universal design, CAPS also addresses the communication and technical needs of the older adult market. The CAPS designation program adds value to that knowledge by providing insights into marketing and working with this demographic group.
Course Description: Universal Design/Build presents a paradigm shift in how we approach residential design and construction. Comfort and convenience – regardless of age, stature or ability – is the hallmark of inclusive design. Additionally, universal design must be pleasing to the eye and cost competitive. This course will benefit all who design, supply, build and remodel homes as well as those affiliated with social and health services. Participants will benefit from the creative design concepts and practices presented in order to develop their own market-driven projects with both broad aesthetic appeal and the necessary functional attributes. CAPS designees may find additional benefits from the course since it expands into the broader spectrum of universal design with a much wider target audience. CAPS training is not a pre-requisite.
All attendees will be able to: • Describe the significance of integrating UD concepts into residential construction • Distinguish between accessibility & UD solutions • Locate UD resources, products, materials & services • I dentify/implement UD solutions for various households, budgets & changing needs • Use effective marketing & communication strategies • Develop functional & attractive designs Course Dates: Dec 7-8, Feb 11-12 9:00AM – 5:00PM, DCOTA Resource Center Universal Design/ Build IDCEC#102910 Day 1 – .6 HSW CEU Universal Design/Build IDCEC#102913 Day 2 – .6 HSW CEU (must attend both day to receive CEU)
