MARTINI WHY SO FAMOUS?

You’d ask why is martini such a classic? And in comes the answerbecause Mr. Bond loves in each of his movies. This is true that, the generation who grew up waiting for Sean Connery James Bond and Pierce Brosnan’s style of ordering- wanted their own Martini someday – shaken and not stirred! But when you will have the first sip, you will wonderwhat’s with it? Its plain simple achohol and yes, a little too bitter to the liking of millions of cocktail lovers. That’s the mystery around it. If you are man enough to handle Dry Martini or Dirty Martini- you will know what sort of Man – James Bond was. Unusual but classy. Plain but strong and Straight Up and off-course Bitter.

CoI Cocktail Magazine, Pg -4

If you are still wondering – what the hell is this. Go to a bar – Order it and yes, don’t forget to say the 3 magic words – SHAKEN NOT STIRRED.

MARTINI & OLIVES Love in BITES

The strange love affair OLIVES AND MARTINI

3 Ways of Spicing up MARTINI-OLIVES LOVE

Perfecting a classic is never easy. And more times than not, you go wrong doing that.

ONE : OLIVE Soaked in salt vinegar and water. Take out the olives

Martini, the classic is most times- too hard for men and women equally.

Overnight soaked Olives give you a bite of tangy rawness of olives helps the tongue palates balance the Martini flavors. TWO: SOAKED OLIVES with Pimento (Red bell pepper of Portguese origin) stuffed in Olives, which gives the classic orange and green feel to Martini Olives. THREE : Stuffed OLIVES in Cheese and gourmet mix to present this classic with a local feel to the MARTINI.

What a coincidence, Olive gave birth to a color in the palate as OLIVE GREEN COLOR and MARTINI now owns a Cocktail Glass as MARTINI GLASS. One of the many reasons why these two are just awesome together. Many say, there is a rule of eating the 3 olives served with the Martini. 1st one just after the first sip. 2nd one in between drinks and the last olive very last gulp.

In addition to the vodka base, Pinot Grigio, yuzu (Japanese citrus) juice and limoncello give amazingly bright tropical notes. The notes accented by the squid ink's "sea breeze" flavor. A long "horse’s neck" spiral of lemon peel snakes over the rim of the glass like a citrusy tentacle.

Team Cocktails of India

In its simplest and truest form A martini is mix of Gin or vodka and vermouth with a dash or two bitters and garnished with olives or a twist . Martini is originated in San Franciso in 1862 near by the town of Martinez at the occidental hotel . There is much more in martini . In early seventies & eighties martini was seen as a old fashioned & was replaced by with more intricate cocktails and wine spritzers . Mid of 90 s it took a turn to fresh fruits , floral and flavored martinis by using fresh fruits , cream, coffee , chacolates!

When James bond in his 1967 movie "you only live twice" said "Shaken not stirred", another era for martini was started. Versatile cocktail, made to your preference, shaken or stirred, Gin or vodka, dirty or dry, can match every mood and occasion. Simple yet delicate cocktail, even slightest change in it can make huge difference, be it your Santanu Chanda garnish, spirit, garnish, Mixologist, Dubai vermouth and even quality of ice.

To loosely quote a popular saying, 'A Martini is perhaps one of the greatest marriages of Gin and vermouth on earth, yet one which is the shortest lived,' - such is charm of this popular classic. Despite being a fairly spirit forward and a straight up style of drink it is also one that is incredibly versatile where one can choose a preferred base spirit of either Gin or Vodka, of a modifier like Bianco or extra dry vermouth, a choice of garnish between olives or lemon peel, shaken or stirred, straight up or in the rocks. This allows the drink to be incredibly personal for the person ordering it. And hence such a timeless classic. Rohan Jelkie Mixologist, India

Stirred with high quality Gin and dry Vermouth, ratio of 6:1, garnished with 3 olives or even cocktail onions, that's my style of martini. AKHILESH SHEORAN Mixologist, India MARTINI Edition, Sep 2018
