Darwin By Cyndi Speer Signed by: David Attenborough 1.3 metres The sculpture carries the quote by Charles Darwin “The love for all living creatures is the most noble attribute of man” These words inspired artist Cyndi Speer to create this piece showing Darwin’s explorations aboard “The Beagle” which led to our knowledge and understanding of so many diverse life-forms. The sculpture is signed by naturalist and TV presenter, Sir David Attenborough who has also devoted his life to the study and communication of the natural world. Cyndi Speer is a professional artist whose work is rapidly becoming recognised for its unique contemporary design and striking colours. Her work has sold widely both nationally and internationally. She has also created the beautiful sculpture “Cam” for the Stand Tall campaign. Guide £5,000 to £7,000

Lot 31

Animal Mineral By Oliver Dean with Jon Jordan 2.5 metres This design was inspired by Darwin’s Theory of Evolution and the role of humankind in protecting vulnerable species. The Giraffe stands as a clear example of “Decent with modification” through its distinctive features. Animals respond to environmental survival requirements through every biologically conceivable manner. This design shows the giraffe covered in a reflective metal (a mineral sourced from the home of the giraffe) to demonstrate that not only do wild animals evolve to “Reflect” survival needs but as humans we are responsible for the welfare and longevity of animals who are affected by our excavation of minerals from fragile environments. In this Artwork, the giraffe’s identity is disguised by the surrounding mineral. Guide £3,000 to £5,000
