Background Information

In 1978, China University of Mining and Technology was approved by the CPC central committee and the state council to re-est In the nearly 30 years after the completion of the project, the steady supply of heat source in our school has been guaranteed. In 2004, according to the Xuzhou government a series of related policies, the boiler room was closed. The heat source of our sc After stop running, the boiler room disused for many years, the internal facilities have been demolished, workshop floor empty, tling equipment several empty, almost all door and window glass broken. Due to long-term vacancy, roof seepage, wind, and ra

tablish the university in Xuzhou. The boiler room, as a supporting project of campus, was designed and constructed in that year.

chool has been brought into the local supply network, and the boiler room has completed its historical mission. a layer of equipment foundation into damage state, demolition waste stone scattered on the ground, floor, roof due to dismanain, the interior is a broken sign, but the main load-bearing structure has not been destroyed.

In the transformation of the first thought of the combination of framework, but because of its space is too homogeneous can not be a good rich space.

Before the old plant truss structure span particularly large, into a huge dining space scale, the lack of a friendly and cordial experience.

The shortcomings of brick and concrete structure is also obvious, although it can show a variety of space, but because of their structural constraints can not be too high or too large span of the attempt.

Arch structure besides vertical bearing is good. Its architecture creates characteristic spatial interventions on dense urban sites that function as catalysts for a meeting, exchange, connection and activities between people.

Arch Typology It’s typical of old brick-faced brick farms , and it’s the hardest to track —— Three-center arch The center decreases with respect to the full bow, and the height h of its curvature goes from zero (case of flat architrave) to h = radius—— Lower sixth bow It is exactly the semiperimeter of a circumference and the radius is equal to half diameter——Round arch

After a series of attempts, the arch was finally decided to use the arch as the main structural support system for the reconstruction. The good span of the arch provided the building with more sociality, continuous and interactive treatment in the space, and also more beautiful.

Cloister dome

Arch structure besides vertical bearing is good, still, decorate the beautification role. To produce a green aesthetic, the north facade niches have glass walls with copious plants placed on them (also acting as a buffer zone). Elegantly constructed with arches, the “superspace” (the bottom floor of the structure) remains open — allowing for a mixed-use facility. Moreover, the arches frame the multiplicity of activities available in the open-space, showcasing the building’s ground floor.

9 Kinds of Spatial Form By designing a continuous dome-like space by subtracting volumes from the “subterranean space above the ground.” We trimmed down more sizes, and it became a structural system of a series of domes and arches. 1

2

The arches have been designed to follow gentle curves at different angles. Due to the strategic placement of the furniture that penetrates the space, paradoxically contradicting characteristics were attributed to the dining area. 3

4

Throughout the restaurant, I designed a total of nine different combinations of space, with three different spans. Various forms of combination greatly enriched the space of the whole building. 5

Site

Site analysis The project is located at the foot of the beautiful Yunlong Mountain, facing the wide Yunlong Lake and the beautiful landscape. It has a good visual effect. To the north is Binhu Park and Commercial Street, and to the south is the old museum of Han Dynasty stone statues. And the base behind the Yunlongshan observation deck, near the highest point.

In the north of the base there is a well-developed residential area, the buildings arranged in neat rows.

On the north side of the base, there is a observation Deck, overlooking the base and Yunlong Lake.

The mountain is very steep, close to the base, has a good geographical location.

On the south side of the base, there is an old museum. This design expanded the new museum near the old museum.

The base is in a complex terrain, between steep mountains and a large lake.Between the lake and the base there is a main road leading to the city. The site used to be a sloping slope with some chaotic paths planned.

By analyzing the contours of the mountain, in my field analysis, I plan to highlight the building by creating a site-to-mountain conflict. There is a process of building a lake that guides people from steep mountains to the peaceful lake.

The concept of building block is also from the mountain, the overall conform to the trend of the Yunlong Mountains, its narrow body building block is also well adapted to the base site.Three buildings added together, and extends the mountain.

In this museum design, I created a series of spatial series to streamline the design of the entire museum. The museum is a combination of three long box blocks, but the most important consideration is how to handle vertical traffic flow. Then, I put two elevators (passenger elevators and freight elevators) cleverly placed in three overlapping boxes. Then inside, interspersed with basic firefighting stairs. In the functional division of the museum as a whole, the relationship between things, people, people, and things are fully considered, the administrative part is placed on the left, and all the tourists flow is concentrated on the right without interfering with each other. The restaurant is arranged on the second floor, with a very nice viewing platform. Around the same time, there are a series of shops, used to sell some museum souvenirs. The third floor is all part of the exhibition hall. After visiting the exhibition hall completely, visitors can follow the stairs directly to the outdoor part to complete the entire museum.

From the entrance to the Plaza, the three floors overlap, the building conforms to the integration of mountains and nature, there is also a hanging staircase can be reached directly on the third floor. There is an atrium in the administrative area, a staircase from the first floor to reach the second floor. There is also an overhang landscape platform that could overlooking the courtyard and the stairs.

Facing the stairs, you can see the different light and shadow effects of the threestory building, as well as the distant lake view. The second floor of the building is hidden in thick woods, close to nature. From the administrative entrance, at a certain relative height, the wide roof platform can have some ornamental value.

1. The first category is the lowest level in society. It is mainly composed of various slums. The people there live in very difficult conditions. Due to the high density of living space, the living space is too crowded. 2. With some capital added, the streets and buildings started to leveled off, and the division of living space was more reasonable. The first two classes mainly flow in the area of agriculture.

3. The industrial class is the main component of this grid. The living space is dominated by the trunk building, which lacks the light and beauty to meet the basic urban production and living space. 4. Clearly divided living area, arrived at factories and other productive labor more convenient to meet the basic and reasonable traffic conditions. 5. The emergence of urban high-rise, a modern residential area, the per capita living space is reasonable, began to have some green landscape. The three, four and five stratum belong to the industrial class and are the largest class in the entire Utopia.

7. At the highest level in the world, with the supremacy of sovereignty, it controls the operation of the entire utopian world so that they all live in the same great circle and will never be able to escape their own class for life.

This project aims to create a hypothetical microcosm that is divided into nine classes of solidarity. The fate of different levels has long been doomed to serve as a warning and irony. In this Utopia, science and technology are highly developed. People accept all kinds of constraints and education as they are. The standards unify all. Human desires can be completely satisfied anytime, anywhere, enjoying the time without food and clothing. It is not necessary to worry about the pain caused by illness or death. However, in a civilized society, there is no such thing as family, individuality, emotion, freedom, and morality. There is no real emotion at all, and the grinding of machines destroys human nature. Here, science and technology have reached the limits of human control. People have become a product of technology and have become a species and a tool here. Some broiler chickens, like the current hatchery, are not creatures of nature, but a meat product that is artificially cultivated.

O wonder! How many goodly creatures are there here! How beauteous mankind is! O brave new world, That has such people in’t. — William Shakespeare, The Tempest, Act V, Scene I, ll. 203–206

1.The first is the agricultural class, which has a very labor-intensive labor force and is a major component of the first class. It does not have too many modern machines.

2.Slightly modern industrial chains such as agricultural greenhouses appear in the second stratum, alleviating much of the labor force, and the people’s living space is also richer.

3.The living space is much more comfortable than before and there are neat streets, but people in this stage are more likely to live in the crenellated building with poor sanitation.

4.Since then into the industrial labor, intensive factories and chimneys next to residential areas, environmental pollution is more serious.

5.The living and living conditions of people in this class have tended to be modern in the city, with dense high-rise buildings and streets.

6.Living conditions are improving day by day, and a lot of enjoyment of spiritual entertainment is added.

7.The ruling class resided in a very high-class palace building, controlling all the operations of the previous classes.

8.The rulers do not even know that above them there is still the highest class of observers monitoring it.

This design highlights the central importance of sharing open spaces in residential and public areas.By adding an public park to it, the project retains its own porosity within the city. Public parks also enhance the contrast between public and private. In order to stay in touch with the city and remain private, remove it from the designated buffer in the street, separate it from the main road route, and then zoom in to how the park adds another level of privacy to the dwelling, and the concept of the buffer zone even extends to the dwelling in.

Unit Identity

Although the units are very similar to each other, the quality of the skin allows for the distinction or identical identification of each unit. The placement of metal plates obscures the boundaries between units and establishes anonymity among the inhabitants behind the skin.

EAST ELEVATION

The most important concept of design lies in the exterior facade, not in the unit configuration.

The combination of punctures inside the skin and the fenestration of the skin creates a personalized experience within each unit. No single unit experiences the same view of parks, sky and neighbors.

Mega Project-Back to 1960s Stockholm,2018

In the past, people walked along streets until they came to their destination and then simply disappeared into the door. -Kenzo Tange

MASTERPLAN 1:1000

Through the analysis of the Tsukiji district of Kenzo Kenzo, I concluded the three characteristics of metabolism in this project, linear axis relationship, growth, vertical cores. How to introduce this concept is into the new Utopia mega project design, firstly I need to choose a relatively complex location in Stockholm. A suitable site was found in the area between the Gärdet and Ropsten metro stations in the northeast part of Stockholm, which has a very complex network of overpass roads connecting the city with Lingdigo. This area also has a shipping terminal. By setting up seven vertical core barrels to connect to the ground, the mega-project is suspended 40 meters above the ground and can be placed into this complex site. The segmented thinking is used to expand the functional areas. In the west of the area, the light rails are directly connected to the Gardet subway station then directly reach the urban area. In the east part, you can reach the shipping terminal directly through the final core tube. A light rail can be directly connected to the entire area, and a total of seven light rail stations are set up, making it easy to reach any area in this project.

A large central park is set up in the center of the project, with shopping malls on both sides, which can reach the residential area through the commercial area. The cars are all parked in the large parking lot below the building, and then there are no motor vehicles in the project. After reaching the central area through the vertical cores, there are moving walks connected to each residential area. On the left side of each residential area, there is an elevator connecting the upper and lower floors to promote neighborhood interaction. Each residential area can be connected to each other on the first to fifth floors to avoid commuting around too far.

RE-build the wall Tripoli, located at 32°54’8” north latitude and 13°11’9” east longitude, with a population of 1.8 million in 2011. It is located on the edge of the desert in northwestern Libya and on the Mediterranean coast. It is the capital of the country and the largest city in the country, and the port, largest commercial and manufacturing center. In the winter of 2011, Syrian refugees with more than 6,000 people have arrived in Libya. Many refugees are in the old town of Tripoli or as a transit point to Europe. However, during this stay in Tripoli, it was not accepted and received injuries. In a more dramatic location between the old and new towns, make an experiential refugee memorial, let the locals know and accept the refugees, and the refugees can start a new life.

Typology Original Typology The residential environment in which the refugees lived was relatively simple. It was divided into several simple forms, including single slopes and double slopes. In the creation of the memorial, I reintroduced these basic elements in an attempt to awaken their previous way of life.

Strategy-Revising the memories

By analyzing the original lifestyle of the refugees, summarizing the types of buildings they have used before. There are chimneys, arches, underground corridors, pillars, and the means of transport for refugees, as well as simple sloping roof buildings that were previously inhabited. By reorganizing these building types into the memorial, I tried to wake up some of the previous memories of that life. Make them feel that even in a new environment, they can feel the old space atmosphere. In the first part of this building, it is to use such a way, and then let them find the way of life.

Most of the interviewed immigrants arrived in Libya to transit to Europe. The study found significant trends in human trafficking trends between 2016 and 2018. Most of the interviewed immigrants report to Libya through a “professional” or mature population smuggling network. This puts individuals at risk of being exploited and grossly violating human rights. Because East African refugees and immigrants are mainly detained in unofficial detention centres or in undiscovered locations, they are particularly difficult to reach humanitarian aid providers.

Location Analysis According to estimates by the UNHCR, 18,000 Syrian refugees have been registered as asylum seekers in Libya, and the actual number of refugees is likely to be between 90,000 and 200,000. The current situation is critical and it is very likely that we will return to a darker and more chaotic world.

The site is located in an existing ancient city wall, the west is the most famous hotel in the city, the east is mainly local residential houses, there are many large and small mosques scattered in it, and the south is the seat of the local government. The ancient city wall separates the city from the old and the old. In this design, the new immigrants brought by the city are integrated into life by transforming the city walls. In the alternation of new and old, find your own values and reshape your new life.

Located along Yan’an West Road, Shanghai’s main East-West artery, Columbia Circle is a historically important site, including preserved colonial monuments and former industrial buildings. Originally the social hub for Shanghai’s American community, the once rural complex is now concealed behind a perimeter of tall modern buildings.

The combination of colonial monuments, industrial buildings and new modern buildings results in a rich collection of spatial typologies. The mix of commercial and cultural activities, restaurants and creative business combined with alluring public spaces will attract a broad public. After half a century of inaccessibility, Columbia Circle has the potential to become a prominent public space in Shanghai again.
