JRINK Juiciery Washington, DC
JRINK is a small juice company with shops located in and around D.C. and Virginia. It was established around 2012 and have grown to 5 spots in majors neighborhoods in D.C. such as Adam’s Morgan, Shaw, Union Station , and etc. This concept provides a mobile shipping container that can be installed for long periods of time. Since Jrink doesn’t not make there Jrinks at the store locations; they just sell pre-made Jrinks out of a refrigerator. This shipping container holds bar seating and lounge seating that folds up when it is closing time. Also solar panels on the roof can power the entire Jrink shipping container and its appliances.
Ikiliwindi School Ikiliwindi, Cameroon
Ikiliwindi, Cameroon is in need of vocational training programs that transition youth into skilled craftsmen, poultry farmers, environmental stewards, and foresters. MBIWOT Foundation is working on getting funding for a new vocational training school located in Ikiliwindi, Cameroon. Colin was brought in with 2 other students to design a school that would accommodate all the tools and needs of the local community and school attendees. This project is still in process, and we are currently working on a marketing booklet to show investors and estimators to get funding for the project. This school is to be completed in 2018.
Liberty
on
The River Philadelphia, PA
Liberty on the River is urban master planned mixed use residential complex. This project is located along the Delaware River in Philadelphia PA. Colin was brought in during the schematic design of the building to render images for the City of Philadelphia. As the project progressed Colin worked closely with Architect Kenneth Hart on designing and drafting the residential unit layouts. Also created presentation sets for meetings with clients, Delaware River Water Committee, and the City of Philadelphia.
Art Haven Library Washington, D.C.
This design uses the concept of an art community center to attract people to the library. Our intention is to bring the public from the street into the library by creating an open public space that is not only a courtyard at the ground level, but public space is suggested throughout the library. Our vision is to inspire people to come together to not only obtain information, but be creative in their search for spirituality.
Co-housing Village Houston, Texas
The typical residential complex is a detached social living situation, which causes people to be more isolated from their neighbors. This design approach to housing stimulates social interactions and provides for a much healthier living situation. By creating a common house located in the courtyard of the complex, it invokes residents to share, socialize and manage their living situation together. This socio-petal atmosphere allows the residents to be much more closer, open, and stronger community.
Community Boathouse Washington, D.C.
At boathouses, crew members are consistently carrying their 60 foot boats to and from the river. It is a major task for crew members and requires the entire team to carry them. In the design process, this boathouse it must be simple and easy process to carry boat to and from the river. The metal structure that extrudes through the community center is the boat storage. This allows for a simple easy process to carry boats from car to storage and storage to river through the metal structure.
Poetry Library Washington, D.C.
In this library design, it has moments that make you feel intimidated, powerful, warm, and alive. This project divides the library into 3 functions. Performance - is vital to poetry, it is how the poem is read that gives it art. The performance auditorium is located in the front towards the street to characterize the space from the street. Development - is the process in which a poet manifests a poems theme. The study/ workplaces are located in the center of the library , so poets can view everyday life from where which they work. Memory - is where poet’s grasps past feelings. What is a library if not a working memory?
