People in the forms of mountains design of the B&B Individual work , 2020 atumn Junior studio project, Tianjin university Instructor : Jing liang Qiu This project is a B&B hotel. The project required the choice of a design strategy based on the original architecture and the requirement to design an interior architectural space in keeping with the local character. The stone village of Jixian in Tianjin is rich in local stone, walls, stone mills and sculptures.Persimmons are produced in abundance. Surrounded by mountains. The original spatial form of the project was mixed and the courtyard space was cluttered, so I chose a spatial strategy of demolition and reconstruction. I used a sloping roof to fit the mountainous terrain. I used a slope consistent with the modalities of the original split roof and designed a combination of sloping roofs. For the spatial structure, I used the traditional structure of the local dwellings. For the specific interior space, I have adopted the floor plan of a famous local house. I designed the furniture to match the local stone. In terms of material treatment, I use local stone.

Steel Mill Memories design of the urban park

Individual work , 2021atumn senior studio project, Tian jin university Instructor : Xiaorong Wang

The project called for the design of a park next to an industrial site and required nine exhibition spaces to be arranged in conjunction with the site. Using the equipment in the steel mill as an entry point, I aimed to explore the meaning and connotations of the spaces in different historical contexts. The steel mill was established after the founding of New China and went through important historical periods such as the First Five-Year Plan, the Great Iron and Steel Refining and the People's Commune Movement. It was abandoned after the reform and opening up of the country. The equipment at the site includes engines, boilers, chimneys and oil cranes. The author translates the equipment into spatially meaningful spaces. The spaces are arranged in a series of exhibition spaces according to an urban grid system. The steel equipment represents a productive function in an era of political centralisation. However, in today's capitalist society, the spaces thus translated become art galleries. In this way, the installation and the space form a dialogue in a different historical space and time.
