Why Vertical Radiators May be the Right Option for You The word 'radiator' usually brings to mind a bulky unit that is to be found along the wall of a room and connected by pipes – although a lot of people end up hiding this traditional radiator behind furniture. Electric vertical radiators differ significantly from these older units, and these differences may make them the prefect choice for your home. If you have never considered these types of electric radiators, you do not know what you are missing.

How Electric Vertical Radiators Differ from Traditional Radiators One of the most obvious differences between vertical radiators and the traditional radiator is the shape. You are probably used to seeing units that have a horizontal shape, but this new type of unit has a vertical shape. This means that it only needs a small amount of floor space. The fact that it is electric means that you do not have to connect it to your central heatingusing pipes. It uses electricity to produce heat and, with some units, you simply need to plug them into a wall and they are ready to go.

The Difference that Vertical Radiators Can Make to Your Home The vertical shape of these radiators mean that you can fit them into rooms where you might struggle to find room for traditional radiator. The fact that they are not very wide means that you will probably not need to block the heat because you have to put furniture in front of them – there can be little choice but to do this when you are trying to fit furniture into a small space. One of the other nice advantages of electric radiators is that they are usually reasonably portable; so you can later move them to another room should the need arise. Vertical radiators can give you far more control over the warmth of your home. Some versions come with a thermostat and timer, which means that you can create different temperatures for each room if you are using more than one radiator. The fact that it has a timer also means that you can arrange for the heating to come on in each room, as you like; this is unlike central heating where you usually warm up every room together.
