Your Guide to Choosing the Right Women's Coat Length Choosing a coat for the summer and winter is a matter of some difficulty for many people. Of course, if you do not care about how you look you can pick any old coat off the shelf and get out of there. For most of us, we want to look respectable. With so many ladies/women's jackets on the market, it can be hard to pick the right one.

The coat length is a matter of some debate, though. Everyone has an opinion on the best coat length for women. In this article, we are going to work with www.ikrush.com and look at what length will work best on you. The General Principle Let us begin with a general principle. Longer coats work better on longer people and shorter coats work better on shorter people. Okay, with that out of the way, now we can look at the proportions. The proportions are important because some women will want their coat to finish at the waist, whereas others will want them to go all the way down to the knee. It depends whether you are trying to protect against the elements or make a fashion statement. This is why shopping for winter coats leans more towards the practicality aspect than dressing stylishly. The Shorter Coats Shorter coats will work better on tall women who already have the natural assets needed to make them look tall. For example, women with long legs have absolutely no need to opt for something longer that would elongate them even more. Shorter coats, especially ones that have been cinched at the waist, can help to create more curves on top, which can be a real problem for particularly tall women. Longer Coats If you are short and you want to increase your height, a longer coat that goes down to the knees will make you look taller. The long lines will serve to elongate your legs and you will seem taller than you actually are. Again, cinch the coat at the waist if you want to add some bulk on top. These longer coats should never go below the knee as otherwise they could look oversized, which will have the opposite effect. What about the Fabric? Believe it or not, the length of the coat is just part of the equation. The other half of the problem is the fabric. Certain fabrics can seriously affect how you look to other people. We are going to look at the general principle of it all. Stiffer fabrics will stand out and make you look larger. This is because they do not mould to your body. In this case, a heavy coat on a petite woman can make them look swamped.

You do not want this from ladies overcoats. Looser fabrics do the exact opposite, as you would expect. Despite the fact that there are so many coat lengths, the principles are simple. Opt for longer coats if you want to look taller and shorter coats if you are already tall. Cinch it at the waist to add some volume to it. Just beware of buying coats that are too big or you could look like you are wearing oversized clothing.
