ACT Government's Electricity Feed-in Renewable Energy Generation scheme The ACT Government's Electricity Feed-in Renewable Energy Generation scheme is implemented as a gross feed-in system; customers will receive the applicable Premium Rate for every metered kilowatt hour (kWh) of electricity generated by their solar photovoltaic system. From commencement of the scheme until 30 June 2010 this amount will be 50.05 cents per kWh generated for systems up to 10kW. For systems between 10kW and 30kW a rate of 40.04 cents per kWh will be paid. The premium rate will be reviewed by the ACT Government each financial year. When you enter into an agreement with ActewAGL Retail for the Feed-in scheme, you are guaranteed payment of the premium price prevailing at that time, for the full 20 years. For energy consumption, standard supply arrangements will apply. New and existing customers will pay for the electricity they consume at the rates published in ActewAGL's Standard retail electricity supply – Schedule of Charges from 1 July 2009. The ACT Government's Electricity Feed-in Renewable Energy Generation scheme legislation states that customers must apply to their electricity retailer to receive the Feed-in Tariff. If for example you connect a solar photovoltaic system to the network and are an ActewAGL Retail customer, you will not automatically be switched to the Feed-in Tariff. You will default to the solar generation tariff until you apply for the scheme. If you are an existing customer (with an existing solar photovoltaic connection) currently on the domestic solar generation tariff, you too will need to apply to receive the premium payments under the scheme.
