Facts About the University
Established in 1871, the University of Arkansas is the only comprehensive doctoral degreegranting institution in Arkansas. It is classified as a Carnegie I Research Institution.
The University offers more than 94 major fields of undergraduate study, 79 master’s degree programs, and 39 doctoral/specialist programs.
Total fall enrollment for 2019 was 27,559, which included 23,025 undergraduates, 4,170 graduate students, and 364 students studying law.
The campus includes 200 buildings, spanning 300+ acres.
The University of Arkansas has all 50 states, the District of Columbia, and over 120 countries represented in its student population.
More than 400 Registered Student Organizations are active on campus, including governing, Greek, international and cultural, professional, religious, honorary and service, and special interest groups.
With over 1,400 instructional faculty members on campus, the University of Arkansas has a 19:1 student-to-faculty ratio for undergraduates.
