Campus Safety and Security

The Campus Safety and Security department strives to ensure that Johns Hopkins is a place where students, faculty, and staff can enjoy a rewarding academic and social environment. The department’s mission is to provide a safe and secure campus environment so that Hopkins can fulfill its commitment to educating students for leadership and service to our nation and the global community. Campus Safety officers team together with Allied Universal Security as well as members of the Baltimore Police Department to offer proactive crime prevention efforts and law enforcement services in partnership with the campus community. Johns Hopkins provides all students, faculty, and staff with the LiveSafe app, a safety tool that gives the community a quick, convenient, and discreet way to communicate with Campus Safety and Security. Students may download LiveSafe for free from the Apple App Store or Google Play Store. The campus public safety team is on call 24/7. Students and families are encouraged to subscribe to the campus safety mailing list to receive the Homewood campus security alerts and other important information related to safety and security around campus. To subscribe, send an email to sympa@lists.johnshopkins.edu and type “subscribe campus safety” in the body of the email. You will be automatically subscribed when the email is received.
