Job/Internship Searching During the Pandemic (for students and parents)

Applying for jobs/internships and keeping track of job postings, deadlines, cover letters, recruiter contacts, and more can quickly become overwhelming without a system in place to organize it all. In this presentation, we cover effective strategies for your job/internship search in the pandemic and organization tactics to make your life a little easier during this time.

Social Justice and Food: Alleviating Food Insecurity in the DU Community with the DU Food Pantry

Join our student leaders in the Center for Sustainability to learn about how we manage our food pantry to reduce food insecurity in our community and erase the stigma of seeking help. We also graciously accept donations. For local families who wish to donate food, there is a box set up in the Community Commons west entrance.

The DU Center for Sustainability gives students the opportunity to turn their passions for creating a just and sustainable world into purpose and real-life experience. Students run nearly 30 different programs from a full-service bike shop, pop-up thrift stores, and outdoor gear rental program, to zero waste athletics, two community gardens, and research into mobility access, energy use, and social justice. One of the Center’s core programs is our Food Pantry, which is free and open to anyone with a DU ID number – undergraduate and graduate students, faculty, and full- or part-time staff. National data suggests that nearly 40% of students will experience food insecurity during college, and our food pantry helps to ensure no one at DU goes hungry.

Dr. Martin will discuss this journey for parents as well as DU students.
