Get in order Order and compare numbers to 10 000 000 and determine the value of each digit
You will need: • paper clip and pencil – for the spinner
• Write the digits from your Challenge on the spinner. • Spin the spinner and use the digits to make eight 6- or 7-digit numbers and write them in the first column of the table below. • In the second column, put your eight numbers in order, smallest to largest. Write the digits 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 on the spinner. Make eight 6-digit numbers. Write the digits 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 on the spinner. Make eight 7-digit numbers.
How to use the spinner Write the digits 6, 7, 8, 9, 7, 8 on the spinner. Make eight 7-digit numbers.
Numbers
Hold the paper clip in the centre of the spinner using the pencil, and gently flick the paper clip with your finger to make it spin.
Numbers in order
Read out the numbers you have put in order to someone at home. After you read each number, say another number that lies after this number and before the next number. © HarperCollinsPublishers Ltd. 2014
