The Brave Knight Long long ago, there was a king who lived with his wife in a lovely castle. They were protected by a brave, handsome knight, who would guard the castle from any danger. The knight, whose name was Michael, had defeated lots of terrifying monsters and venomous creatures. One night, there was a huge green monster that wanted to attack the castle. This monster was as tall as a giraffe and as big as an elephant. The monster came crashing through the drawbridge and crumbled the castle walls. Everyone in the town was horrified, and ran for their lives. While all the townspeople were running away, Sir Michael dashed towards the monster. The monster was extremely enraged, and threw rocks at him. Sir Michael leaped out of the way, and slashed at the monster’s leg with his sword. In anger, the monster breathed out a ring of fire, which made Sir Michael a little bit frightened. He knew that he needed to protect the castle and the village, so Sir Michael fought on with courage and bravery. Sir Michael jumped over the ring of fire, and cut off both of the monster’s arms. The monster made an awfully loud scream, and fell to the ground. Sir Michael leaped onto the monster, and finished it off. He was extremely proud of defeating the monster and raced towards the townspeople to share the splendid news. When he arrived, Sir Michael was greeted by a huge wave of townspeople, who were clapping and cheering the victory. The next day, the king and the queen invited the townspeople to join in a gigantic celebration, that included a feast. There was food, decorations and even party hats for everyone. When everyone had
settled down, the king invited Sir Michael up to the stage. The knight walked up to the stage full of pride and joy, where he was presented a medal of honour for his bravery for protecting the kingdom. Sir Michael took a bow and everyone applauded. When the party was over, the villagers and royals thanked Sir Michael, and hoped that monsters would never be seen again.
