The Inspector interrupts the Birlings' celebration to discuss Eva Smith's suicide. The Birlings are celebrating and are very happy. Discussing the suicide creates conflict between Mr Birling, Eric and the Inspector. The Inspector reveals that Eva was sacked from Mr Birling's factory.
