Chapter 1
The attic was dark and filled with boxes. Tara Binns had come up here to look for one special box. A costume box full of hats, shoes, clothes … and adventure.
Every time Tara opened up the box, it gave her an outfit that she wouldn’t normally choose for herself and whisked her off to try out a new and exciting job. Tara never knew what costume she would get, or which job she would do. It was always a challenge, but always great fun as well.
Tara’s eyes shone with excitement. She opened the lid and felt a tingle in her hand. It went up her arm and around her whole body.

Within seconds, she felt herself spinning away from the attic … tumbling through space and time. She closed her eyes and wondered …
What will I be today?

Tara looked down to see what she was wearing and instantly wished she hadn’t. She was travelling through the air, high above the ground! Was she flying? No, she was sitting on a chairlift that was taking her up a mountain. She gripped the bar in front of her with both hands.
Chapter 2

She was wearing a beige jacket and trousers. There were binoculars around her neck and a small rucksack on her back. A cool breeze tugged at the hat on her head. Was she a mountain ranger?
The chairlift took her high over rocks … trees … and snow. Soon she would be at the top. But the chairlift wasn’t slowing down … or stopping. How would she get off?

The chairlift was attached at the top to a cable. The cable looped around a massive wheel, which sent the chairs round in a semicircle and back down the mountain again.
If she wanted to get off, she would have to jump from her moving seat!
She lifted the bar out of the way and shunted forwards.
This is going to be tricky, she thought.
3 … 2 … 1 … Jump!
