Wing Hi I’m Darcie, that’s my name, I got this name because my eyes are deep like the sea. My eyes are as beady as an owls and my legs are as thin as a thorn. People say my hair is as orange as the sun. I used to like flying before it happened, but now I like to pick berries in the wood. I used to fly high so I could see the brown trees with yellow leaves all around the woodland where I lived. Do you want to hear my story of bravery and how I met my best friend? I used to live in the forest; I was flying through the woods one day when I heard something. It was a charming sound so I flew down and landed on a pine tree. I jumped off the tree onto the grubby ground. I explored the forest; the trees were dark and scary. The sound got closer and closer but then the sound stopped. I heard a howl of sadness and the sky went black. There were these black figures with spread out wings. I didn’t know what they were at first but there were four of them and they had beady eyes beadier than mine. They had thin legs that were pure black. As I got closer, I thought they were crows. After a while, the black, dark figures pushed what looked like a Humanoid the same as me onto the floor. That’s when I realized where the charming music had come from… it had been the Humanoid playing his wooden flute. As he lay there, I noticed that he only had one wing. At that moment, the horrible crows started playing his flute, well I say playing… it sounded nothing like the sweet music I had heard before. As the crows (bullies of the sky) flew into the air, they closed their wings and the bright sun was revealed once more. I checked to see whether the coast was clear; the Humanoid had vanished. I picked up the flute and flew into the air to see if I could see him. I

managed to see a tree house with a light on inside. I also thought I heard clinks and clanks like someone making something big and heavy. The huge tree sprung open with a catapult coming out of it. The Humanoid fired himself out of it. He flew through the air but his new wing broke. He started plummeting down and that was when the crows spotted him…! I thought I might be able to get down there before the crows did but I didn’t manage to. I remembered that I had the Humanoids flute. I flew down and led the crows away…Suddenly, they tore off my wing and left me injured on the floor. I could hear something striding towards me while I was sobbing loudly. The splintery log next to the fire was wet and damp. I could feel something being rapped round my neck. It was the Humanoid. His name was Wing because he only had one wing! He noticed the crows (bullies) coming so he tugged at me. Suddenly, he came up with a brilliant idea; he said if we work together we could get away from the crows so we joined arms and each flapped our one wing. 5 seconds later, we managed to fly into the blue sky.
