H

ere’s hoping all is well with you and yours as we enter the upcoming Holiday Season. That being said, this is the time of year when the CAA finds itself the busiest with association business and events! Not only did we kick off our Fall with an outstanding Foundation Summit, presented last month by the Colorado Auctioneers Foundation, your Board is also in “High Gear” planning for our upcoming CAA Convention, January 2nd - 5th at the newly remodeled Renaissance Stapleton Hotel in Denver. To top that all off, we are already looking forward to the CAF’s 2nd Annual 2020 Mile High Auctioneer Open Bid Calling Contest, being held once again in conjunction with the National Western Stock Show on the 25th of January. With all that being said, and with the holidays upon us, it is a wonder any of us get a chance to relax during the next two months! But seriously, it is a wonderful time of year to be in the Auction Industry…and I know all of you wouldn’t have it any other way.

Same goes for the Ringman Contest, it is in addition to the prize money notated in the contest rules. The CAA Board has approved a minimum of $600 for each contest, to be paid out as follows: $300 to the Champion, $200 for the Reserve Champion, and $100 for the Runner Up! Not only that, we have had one of our members graciously donate the $1200.00, so it comes as no expense to the CAA! And just so you all know, if anybody feels like it, we will still take additional funds for the Added Money Purses.

Also to note, our Annual Business Meeting and Election of Officers will be held on Saturday afternoon from 4 - 6 p.m. prior to the Dinner and Awards Ceremony. ttention CAA Auctioneers and auction enthusiasts alike, it is time to save the date for the annual Colorado Auctioneer’s Association Fun Auction. This family friendly auction is scheduled to take place Friday evening January 3, 2020. This annual event is sure to be a great way to become re-acquainted with old friends and make some new ones. Proceeds from this event directly benefit the Colorado Auctioneers Association and enable us to continue our tradition of putting on fun, content filled conventions. The CAA Board is doing everything it can to come up with a large assortment of items for your bidding pleasure, but quality donations are needed and welcomed to make this year’s auction a huge success. Donors are encouraged to take the microphone and sell their own donations if they choose, while showcasing their auctioneering talents. If you plan to compete in the 2020 Colorado State Auctioneer Championship on Saturday evening, this will also be a great opportunity to spend some time selling on the competition stage. Advertising certificates, sporting goods, toys, gift certificates and many more items are already being rounded up to sell. Bring your donations to registration and we will get them in the line up early. First Time CAA Attendees Breakfast and Scavenger Hunt We are always pleased to see new faces at our annual convention. Those new faces may belong to brand new auctioneers or they may belong to someone who has been an auctioneer for years and has just joined CAA. Whatever the case, we want to make all newcomers feel welcome. On the morning of Friday, January 3rd, there will be a Welcome Breakfast for First Time CAA Auctioneer attendees. If you are a new to the CAA, please try to attend this breakfast in your honor. We are always very happy to learn more about you, your interests in t he auction industry and introduce you to our attending association members. I

was on vacation recently with some friends who work in the auction business. We had a great trip overall, but we had one experience that was quite phenomenal with a lesson to be learned.

One day we spent simply relaxing. We went to the pool attached to a small beach and rented a cabana. The gentleman who rented us the cabana showed us which one it was and brought us some nice cold ice water.

How nice, I thought to myself. What great customer service! He came back an hour later to check on us and bring us some more towels. How nice I thought to myself. I could get used to this kind of service. I felt special because he was focusing on us. Then he came back an hour later with more ice water and offered to clean my sunglasses off for me. It was then that I noticed his sunglasses. So I asked him: “Jayce, I love your glasses. Where did you get them?” (See, by now we are on a first-name basis). “Hannes, we sell these at the cabana hut. Would you like to try mine on – they are great glasses – they are called Maui Jim’s and they are light, although they are made with real glass.”

So of course I tried them on and I loved them. They are stylish and when I put them on, I could see the world so much more clearly – I didn’t even have to take them off to see my emails on my phone. My friends all tried them on as well.

“These are great Jayce,” I said. “We’ll come up to the cabana hut in a little bit and see the different styles you have.”

Why is this pertinent to all of you? Because you are ALL in the sales business. No I’m not talking about the actual auction sale. I’m talking about getting the auction sale. Jayce’s customer service skills were extraordinary and something to be emulated. What kind of ice water can you provide your clients? What kind of services like cleaning sunglasses can you provide? Because building these relationships with potential clients will eventually have them asking you, “can you sell my assets for me?”

Jayce taught us all a very valuable lesson that beautiful day. It’s what we already know – sales are about relationships. Of course you have to have a good product (your auction) and of course you have to have the expertise (he knew his product well).

Auctioneers I have talked to are very talented in the auction process but they tell me they struggle with the sales process. This year NAA is introducing a new Sales class taught by Spanky Assiter, CAI, AARE and Scott Shuman, CAI. We’ll introduce it in Las Vegas (as I write this it hasn’t been completed BUT I am confident they hit it out of the park). Watch for this to be offered again soon!

And in the meantime think about the lesson that Jayce offers us. Try to have the relationship so that your clients are ASKING YOU to sell their assets for them!

Sure enough, Jayce came back in the next 30 minutes with several pair of Maui Jim sunglasses. He showed us the features of the sunglasses and how you could use heat to make them fit your head better, about its warranty and how to care for the glass. Jayce then walked back to the cabana hut with three less pairs (I only bought one pair!).

Jayce NEVER asked for the sale. He never pressured us. In fact, we asked him if we could buy them. Let that soak in: WE asked HIM if we could buy them.

Now if you know sunglasses, you know these are expensive sunglasses. I have NEVER spent this kind of money on sunglasses. But I asked HIM if I could buy the sunglasses.

Foundation Update The Foundation Board has continued our efforts to repeat 3 great events from 2018. We welcome any and all foundation members to participate in these activities and we hope for your support. As a reminder all members of the Colorado Auctioneers Association are also members of the Foundation. SCHOLARSHIP AWARDS: The Foundation awarded $1000 scholarships to two members of our Colorado Auctioneer family. Matthew Heitmann and Walker Shuman were this year’s recipients. Scholarships are open to members of the CAA / CAF family and their families. Deadline for 2020 applications is April 1, 2020. FOUNDATION SUMMIT: Our second annual summit was held in Parker, CO, on October 14, 2019. This daylong Ted talk learning experience was enjoyed by more than 30 CAA / CAF members. The 2019 gathering had a great lineup of speakers discussing a wide range of topics. The 30-minute face paced format kept everyone engaged. The 2019 Speakers included noteworthy individuals from the auction community, Christie King and Trey Morris. The day also featured Facebook / e-mail marketing expert, Brad Friedman, and financial planner, Bob Heykoop. Jim Mathis, owner of WyoTech drove in from his 30,000 acre Wyoming Ranch to share his story. We had an extended segment with Paul Andrews, President of the National Western Stock Show. The most memorable segment of the day was from Jerry Schemmel. Jerry is the former play-by-play announcer for the Denver Nuggets and current play-by-play radio announcer for the Colorado Rockies. He told his story of surviving a plane crash and it’s life-changing effects. If you missed the 2019 Foundation Summit, plan to attend the fall 2020 event. It is FREE to ALL CAA Members. King Soopers Rewards Program King Soopers has changed their rewards program. You will no longer be able to add money to or reload existing King Soopers gift cards. These cards will be valid until the balance is zero. The NEW King Soopers Program utilizes the King Soopers Loyalty Card. If you already have a King Soopers Loyalty Card, you can register it to benefit the Colorado Auctioneers Foundation. The Foundation will then receive credit for your purchases, and it will not affect your fuel points. The process is as follows:

Chaplain’s Corner

I

t’s hard to believe that the year 2019 is almost over, and the 2020 CAA Convention is just around the corner. My question to each member of the CAA is how much benefit did you receive from “YOUR” association this year? That may seem like a silly question to ask, but there is a reason for my asking it. If you are thinking that you didn’t get much from CAA this year, maybe you should ask yourself, “How much did I put in to “MY” association this year?” In churches I have been involved with, I have known people who often complain that they don’t get any benefit from the church. Usually they are the same ones who seem to believe the old notion that the preacher is paid to do the work of the church, so we expect him to do it all. To those certain people, all the work includes preaching on Sunday morning, counseling members as needed during the week, visiting the sick in the hospital, and in many cases making sure the church lawn is mowed and the building cleaned before the next Sunday. On the other hand, there are many people who feel that their church is giving them everything they need to fulfill their spiritual and emotional needs. I would say that almost 100% of the time this type of person is the one who is coming alongside their preacher helping him do his work; mowing the lawn, cleaning the building, visiting the sick and other things they can see a need doing. The same holds true in the CAA, or any association for that matter. The ones who are willing to get involved with the work are the ones who get the most out of their organization. The Board of Directors of CAA serve on a volunteer basis and are not paid as preachers are, but even at that it is easy for members to think board members are the only ones who need to be involved. If you want to get more out of your CAA membership get involved. If you want to know how to get involved call the Executive Secretary, Cissy Tabor, or the President, or any Board Director and ask what you can do to help. ~ John Schaffner

ames Baker was born April 11, 1950 in Enid, Oklahoma, to Vernon and Annella Baker. When James was six weeks old, he travelled with his family to Phillips University Science Camp near Alamosa, CO, and spent summers of his youth at the Science Camp (which was co-founded by his father, Vernon, a geology professor at Phillips University) and at property owned by his family in the nearby San Juan Mountains. James attended Phillips University where he met Carolyn Hostetler. They married in December of 1970. James and Carolyn had two children, Brian and Allison. He was a devoted husband and father and was very proud of his family. James always had an interest in antiques and collectibles, largely because of his love of history. During his career as an educator, he ran a part-time business with his wife conducting antique shows and estate sales. After retiring as an educator James began his second career, establishing Baker Auction in the Denver area. He was an active member of the CAA and the NAA and poured his energy and intellect

verett was born April 9, 1960 in Scottsbluff to Carl and Kathryn (Asmus) Schneider. He attended school at Redington, graduating from Bridgeport High School in 1978. Everett played football, wrestled, ran track and participated in FFA while in high school. He graduated from the Reisch World Wide College of Auctioneering in Mason City, Iowa in 1981. Everett was united in marriage to Donna Neuharth on June 9, 1984 in their backyard in Wellington, CO. The couple moved to Fort Collins where they owned and managed WW Auctions & Real Estate. Everett was active in the Colorado Auctioneer’s Association and won the state bid calling championship in 2004. In 2010, he was inducted into the Colorado Auctioneer’s Association Hall of Fame. For the last eight years, he has called Minatare home while remaining active in the auctioneering community but most importantly, fulfilling his childhood dream of farming.

We would like to say THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU to all of you for the special welcome shown to us during the 15 years since 2005 we have conducted World Wide College of Auctioneering classes in Denver. As Owners and President & Vice President of World Wide since 2001, many people have asked us, "What have you liked most about your roles at World Wide?" The answer is easy for both of us, "It's the people that have attended World Wide and getting to pour into their lives to help them realize their dreams to become auctioneers." We are going to miss very much our WWCA sessions in Denver. It was like an auctioneer family reunion at our Denver classes. CAA Engaged Membership

T

he CAA has become a fine organization through nurturing, pushing, prodding and pulling along. During my term as President, I found myself in great adoration of those who came before me. Those who dared to dream of being able to come together and share their victories and tragedies with those who share the same goal. Seeking to become more collectively than they are as individuals in a world where very few truly understand the profession. The CAA has had to overcome many adverse changes in the auction field, as well as conflicts that arise within its own membership. Staying on top of education and legislative issues takes a constant eye and hard work to bring the issues to members to stay informed of all situations. During my term, the board and I elected to try having more engaged members. This will allow for a more tightly knit group bringing with it more controversy as well as more harmony. It’s the way we all grow, with pains included, having the knowledge of the founders in conjunction with the new kids on the block equals the best of all of us. So why the article? I have heard it said, “I would quit if a certain person gets elected” or, “I will wait until that person is off the leadership before I consider returning.” Yes, some of the ideas and leadership may not be the way you would like, however, quitting is not the way to go about improving the situation. Getting involved is the best way to improve the organization from top to bottom. This article is an urge for you to consider getting involved. I am not promising you a rose garden. It will take hard work and commitment, on occasion all the frustrations you think you can stand. I am not talking about running for the board, or even presidency, there are many ways to get involved in the CAA. Many board members have committees that need support and ideas, both new and old, that need to be championed by all members, including you. Picnic, Legislative, Education, Convention, First Timers…to name a few, and the convention itself needs, greeters, ushers, ringmen, set up and tear down help. Not all positions are filled with glory but all have honor. In closing, now is always the best time to consider getting involved, don’t let the opportunity pass.

NEGOTIATING

Negotiating Rationales

When asked, most people could not identify or describe their negotiating rationale. Some might even respond that they don’t have one. Oh yes, they do. We all do. Unless specifically selected from a list of possibilities, we adopt a rationale by default. We just gravitated to one accidently. The problem is that our default rationale might not be the best for us, the most effective for our negotiating situations or the one compatible with our style. There are four (4) negotiating rationales to choose from. 1. Accommodation: Our rationale here is that we want to give up things so others can have them. It could be summarized as: I lose, you win. We all know accommodators. We’ve even been them, at least in certain situations, especially with our kids. Can we agree in a serious negotiation, this isn’t our best choice? 2. Persuasion: This rationale is that we are super aggressive and strongly focused on trying to influence our negotiating opponent to do or see things our way. Call it: I win, you lose. Here we pull out all the stops. We leverage every power source available and muster our most influential language to get the other side to yield. To some, this sounds wonderful. But consider, if you have to live a long time with this opponent or ever have to negotiate with them again, the problem becomes inevitable. Another bad choice. 3. Compromise: Here’s where many will drop their anchor and say, “Yes, I like this one.” But wait, isn’t compromise when both sides are required to give up something? Couldn’t this be called: I lose, you lose? We’ve all experienced this one too. It has become the default rationale of many. The only (significant) downside is that both end up ‘losing’! 4. Partnering: Most haven’t heard of or considered this one. ...continued on Page 22

Negotiating Rationales... continued It’s more of a collaborative rationale where our goal is: I win, you win. Now that you have heard of it, can you think of a reason why you wouldn’t want all your negotiations to end with both sides feeling like winners? Let’s face it, this should be our selection! Epilogue: I can’t leave this discussion without admitting that we don’t live in a perfect world where everything fits into a neat category. There’s no way every negotiation can be restricted to just a partnering rationale. Most good negotiators use a combination…and so should you. Aren’t there times you want to be persuasive? Should you be accommodating here and there? And, finally, don’t we all have to give us something small (compromise) to gain something big (partnering).

Yes ____ No _____ Please use the space below to provide a 50-75 word biography for use in the news release promotion. ____________________________________________________________________________________________________ ____________________________________________________________________________________________________ ____________________________________________________________________________________________________ Rules for participation in the Colorado Auctioneers Association State Auctioneer Championship Contest:  Each contestant should dress appropriately for a professional presentation.  Contestants shall be current, active (paid) members of Colorado Auctioneers Association at the time of the entry deadline.  Contestants must pay the $100.00 entry fee by 3:00 p.m. on Saturday of the convention.  Contestants must provide three (3) items that should sell for $50 or more each by 3:00 p.m. on the day of the sale.  Each of the three items provided by the contestant MUST have the contestant’s business card or name firmly attached to the item, and if he/she wishes to specify the order of selling those items, each should be clearly indicated as #1, #2 or #3.

 Past CAA Champions are not eligible to compete in future CAA Competitions.  Competing order will be determined prior to the event by drawing conducted by the Contest Chairperson during the Mandatory Contestant Roll Call and Orientation Meeting.

 All contestants MUST attend the Contestant Roll Call and Orientation Meeting at 6:15 p.m. Saturday. Roll Call will be taken at the start of the meeting

promptly at 6:15 p.m. In the event a contestant is not present during the initial roll call, his / her name will be called 2 additional times at 10-minute intervals. In the event a contestant is not present when his/her name is called the third and final time, he / she will be disqualified from the contest, without return of entry fee.

 The Colorado State Auctioneer Championship Contest will be held in the designated ballroom at the convention site. The sound systems will be preset and will not be adjusted during the contest. All contestants will have the opportunity to test the sound system prior to the start of the competition.

 There will be at least three judges. The judges may be either auctioneers or members of the community.  Contestants shall be introduced in both the Preliminaries and Finals. If the contestant is not present when called to the podium, he or she will be disqualified.  Each contestant sells three items consecutively in both the Preliminaries and in the Finals. In the Preliminaries, each contestant will sell items he/she provides for the contest. In the Finals, each contestant will sell items provided by the CAA with a value equal to other contestants’ items.

 On the scorecard used for the bid-calling segments, the total possible points in each category will be as follows: Presentation—20 points; Chant/Voice— 45 points; Effective Auctioneering—35 points

 On the scorecard used for the Interview segment, the total possible points in each for the categories will be: Presentation—25 points; Response—50 points; Ambassador—25 points

 If there are 4 or fewer judges, all scores will be tallied. If there are 5 or more judges, the lowest score for each contestant shall be eliminated. If there are 6 or more judges the highest score will also be eliminated, after which all remaining scores shall be averaged to determine each contestant’s final score.

 Final scores are determined by combining the interview score with the bid-calling final score. The interview score will count for 40 percent and the bid-calling score will count for 60 percent of the total.

 If a tie score occurs in the Preliminaries, the contestant with the highest score in the Chant/Voice category will be selected.  The scores from the Preliminaries determine who enters the finals. Contestants with the top five scores will enter the Finals.  Finalists will be announced after the conclusion and the scoring of the Preliminary Competition. Each Finalist will be asked to report to an isolated room for instruction on the interview portion of the competition.

 During the Interview Portion of the contest, Finalists shall be isolated in a room until it is his/her turn to be interviewed. Cell phones / cell phone usage is NOT allowed by Finalist while in isolation. The Interview Portion is the only part of the contest with the isolation restriction.

   

The interview portion of the contest is conducted only for the Finalists. Contestants will not be asked to chant during the interviews. The scores from the Preliminaries will be used as the tie-breaker in the finals. The following prizes will be awarded: Champion—$300 Cash Prize, Belt buckle, name on the Chuck Cumberlin Traveling Trophy and plaque. In addition, the Champion will be reimbursed up to $1000 if he / she represents Colorado at the NAA International Auctioneer Championship (IAC) contest in July 2020. First Runner Up— $200 Cash Prize and Reserve Champion Trophy / Plaque; Second Runner Up - $100 Cash Prize

 Contestants will not be given the exact order of finish. Scorecards will be available following the competition and can be picked up from the Contest

Prize: The Champion, Reserve Champion and Second Runner-Up will be announced after the end of the contest or at the end of the evening. The Champion will receive 1/3 of the Total of Entry Fees collected ($25.00 per entry fee) plus a $300.00 Cash Prize, a 2020 CAA Ringman Championship belt buckle and a plaque. The Reserve Champion will receive $200 Cash Prize and a plaque. The Second Runner-Up will receive a $100 Cash Prize. The Top 3 scores will determine the awards. Criteria for Contestants: Contestants shall be current, active members of the Colorado Auctioneers Association at the time of the entry deadline. Past Champions may not enter the contest. Entry: Contestant must have paid the $75.00 Entry Fee by 3:00 PM on January 3, 2020. No contest entries will be accepted after the deadline date and time. Contestant will be required to provide three (3) items with a minimum value of $50.00 each. All contestants must attend the Contestant Roll Call and Orientation Meeting at 6:15 PM the night of the contest. In the event a contestant is not present during the initial roll call, his / her name will be called 2 additional times in 5 minute intervals. In the event the contestant is not present when his / her name is called, the third and final time, he / she is disqualified from the contest, without return of entry fee. Judges: There shall be three – five judges and will be the sole responsibility of the contest chairman to determine the qualification of the judges. It is the Chairman’s responsibility to find non-discriminating judges. If available, at least one judge will be a representative of the NAA. If there are 4 or fewer judges, all scores will be tallied. If there are 5 judges, the lowest score for each contestant shall be eliminated.

2020 Colorado State Ringman Championship Contest Entry & Rules

General: Two active members of the CAA will serve as the designated Auctioneers for the contest should contestant(s) not have an Auctioneer selected. The Chairman will select the designated Auctioneers. Ringmen contestants agree to the use of their voice and image by the Colorado Auctioneers Association in any methods as directed by the CAA Board of Directors. The Champion Ringman will be asked to attend the 2020 CAA Day At The Capitol, 2020 Summer Picnic and the 2021 CAA Annual Convention as the reigning champion. Criteria Used by Judges in Scoring: Judges will evaluate contestants in five categories, listed below: Judges will score contestants in each category on a range of 1 – 10 points; Judges will score based on the judges being a customer at an auction where the Ringman is working. Scoring: 1. Introduction: Ringmen will introduce him/herself; Give contestant number and Introduce the Auctioneer, Initial command/ Appearance/Poise / Recognize Convention Sponsors 2. Body language: Hand Gestures; Surveys Crowd? 3. Communication: Communicates with Auctioneer and Buyers 4. Salesmanship: Encourages the audience to bid; Did bid reach a minimum $50 (no extra credit for above $50); Signals auctioneer to end bidding. 5. Overall: Desires to have Ringman work for them. * Contestants should not be disqualified for forgetting any of the judging criteria, only penalized. Competition: •

Each of the 3 items provided by the contestant must have the contestant’s business card or name firmly attached to the item, and if he / she wishes to specify the order of selling those items, each should be clearly indicated as #1, #2 or #3. Competing order will be determined, prior to the event, by a drawing conducted by the Ringman Contest Chairman. Contestants shall be introduced in both the Preliminaries and Finals. If the contestant is not present when called to the stage, he or she will be disqualified. Contestants will sell three (3) items consecutively, in both the Preliminaries and the Finals. In the Preliminaries, each contestant will sell items he or she provides for the contest. In the Finals, each contestant will sell items provided by the Colorado Auctioneers Association. There will NOT be an interview portion in the competition. The scores from the Preliminaries determine who qualifies for the Finals. The number of contestants to the Finals will be determined on a sliding scale by how many enter the Preliminary Round. The scores from the Preliminary Round will be used as the tiebreaker in the Finals. Finalists will be announced after the conclusion and scoring of the Preliminary Competition. Contestants will not be given the exact order of finish. The scorecards of all contestants will be available after the evening’s auction events have concluded.

Article 8 In accepting the sale of real or personal property, the member pledges himself to be fair to both seller and buyer, and to protect the owner's interest as he would his own. Article 9 When consulted for an appraisal of value or liquidation problem, a member should give a well considered opinion, reflecting expert knowledge and sound judgment, taking requisite time for study, inquiry, and deliberation. His counsel represents a professional service which he should render in writing and for which he should make a reasonable charge. A member should not undertake to give an appraisal or offer an opinion on any proposition on which he has a direct or even indirect interest, without a full disclosure of such interest. Article 10 Before accepting a sale it is the duty of the Auctioneer to advise the owner intelligently and honestly regarding the market value of the business or proposition and the reasonable chance of selling at value or above. PART III - RELATIONS TO THE PUBLIC Article 11 It is the duty of every member to protect the public against fraud, misrepresentation or unethical practices in connection with the sale, disposal or liquidation of any real or personal property the Auctioneer is called upon to dispose of at public auction. 1. OPEN TO ALL AUCTIONEERS OVER 18 - limited to 30 contestants. No Interview. 2. Entry fee: $300, plus contestants bring 3 items with a minimum value of $100 each, subject to approval, to be sold in the Preliminary Round. The aggregate sales total of the three items each contestant sells should be no less than $300.00. 3. Top 5 (based on Preliminary Round points) will compete in a Final’s Round. Finalists will sell two items, which will be provided by Colorado Auctioneers Foundation (CAF) and the Mile High Auctioneer (MHA) Committee. 4. All contestants will compete together with no separate divisions. Contestants will be judged according to the Mile High Auctioneers Open scorecard criteria. The decision of the judges is final. There will be 5 Champion Judges. 5. The selling order of contestants will be established by random draw, which shall take place prior to January 25th. Roll Call will take place and contestant selling order will be announced during a mandatory meeting at 2:30 p.m. on the day of the contest. All items must be checked in by 2:00 p.m. before the meeting. Contestants that do not check their items in by 2:00 p.m. or do not attend the mandatory meeting at 2:30 p.m. will be ineligible and fees will be non-refundable. 6. Preliminary Round scores will be used only to determine the top 5 contestants who go into the Finals Round. The Finalist’s scores will start fresh in the Final’s Round. Preliminary Tie Breaker: (1st) Best Score in Bid Calling Category, (2nd) Best Score in Overall Impression Category. FINALS Tie Breaker: (1st) Highest Total Preliminary Score, (2nd) Highest Score in Bid Calling Category. 7. Contest will be videoed and live streamed. Contestants authorize and waive all rights for compensation or royalties, for use of any and all video, Internet, audio, photos, etc. as footage for promotional use by the CAF, the MHA Committee and the Colorado Auctioneers Association (CAA) to highlight the event and any future event. Any revisions or changes announced on the day of contest will take precedence over any printed material. 8. The Mile High Auctioneer committee or authorized designees will set the sound system and may adjust to benefit the contest. The MHA Committee reserves the right to accept or reject any contestant’s entry into the contest. 9.
