Looper Laureates

At Denver Country Club in January, 14 Colorado students who caddied at courses in the state were awarded the Evans Scholarship—a full housing and tuition college grant offered to golf caddies valued at more than $125,000 over four years. The Western Golf Association and the Colorado Golf Association selected the students from a record 39 applicants. Also setting a record: 11 of the 14 selected were women. Those who received the scholarship (and the club at which they caddied) are

Michael Barbone, Alexandria Gough and Sarah Jimenez (Cherry Hills); Georgia Meysman-Sharpe, Ellie Rodriguez (CommonGround); Hannah Abbey and Jovaun Salcido (Meridian); Madeline and Schuyler Jonasen (The Broadmoor); Karely Castillo and Erika Kemp (Green Valley Ranch); Julia and Brady Schiff (Denver); and Keileigh Gorman (Rolling Hills). Come fall, they will all live in the same Evans Scholars house at the University of Colorado with 40-45 fellow scholars on the Boulder campus. wgaesf.org
