PIKES PEAK You can drive, take the Cog Railway, or hike to the top of one of America’s most iconic mounts. The trail to the peak begins in town and winds 13.5 miles uphill with an elevation gain of 7,400 feet. The hike is no joke, and the park offers this notice: “Basically, it’s a half-marathon in hiking form.
