JOHN TRACY MEMORIAL GOLF TOURNAMENT APPLEWOOD BUSINESS & COMMUNIT Y DIRECTORY 2019

John Tracy August 1, 2017 marked a sad day for the Applewood Community. John Tracy was a friend, a mentor, and a colleague to many. There are so many that John touched during his time here with us; it is amazing to hear so many others share their stories about him. From his travels around the globe, to helping catch a bank robber, to the individual accounts from the people who called him a friend, John’s was a life welllived. John was one of the organization’s originators and recognized as one of its biggest contributors in making it a success. Throughout the years, John served as President, Vice President, Events Chair, and Programs Chair. There are probably others that I am missing. In fact, he served on every committee the ABA has ever had at one time or another. No one else can

and share it. In that way, he was also a teacher. So as we remember and celebrate John’s life today, we can truly honor John’s legacy by being the light for others that he was for everyone here today.

John Tracy Memorial The Applewood Business Association has taken the lead in establishing a permanent memorial for John Tracy at Applewood Golf Course. The ABA is partnering with the Prospect Recreation and Parks District, the Prospect Foundation and the Applewood Golf Course to donate a memorial landscape feature to be built at the Applewood Golf Course. The memorial, now in design, will depict a beautiful representation of the Colorado Fourteeners in stone, each of which John loved and summited several times, and an engraved memorial to John. The

John was a very accomplished man, whether it was hiking, climbing, working, organizing or attending a community event, he was a friend to all and a mentor to so many.
