MJ Fit’s mission is to “inspire women to be strong,” realizing that “strong” means something different to everyone. The team at MJ Fit believes in fostering a supportive and non-intimidating environment. This boutique studio offers a variety of services to empower women on their fitness journeys and stands out for its focus on creating a supportive community. Experienced trainers create effective and engaging exercise and nutrition programs that cater to all fitness levels. The trainers each have their own specialties with exercise and nutrition: pre- and post-natal, weight loss/gain, hormonal disorders, sports performance, powerlifting, special needs, corrective exercise and youth fitness.
THE STORY: MJ Fit was founded in 2017 by Marshelle Johnston, “MJ,” who envisioned a gym that catered to women’s specific needs and preferences. The studio grew from a facility that only offered personal training, to one that now includes nutrition counseling, life coaching and gym memberships, demonstrating its commitment to providing a well-rounded approach to women’s health and wellness.

THE LOWDOWN: Celebrating the city’s rich pioneer heritage and vibrant community spirit, the Tomato Festival at Trapper Days is cherished throughout Northern Colorado. Held in September, Fort Lupton comes alive and welcomes visitors from around the state to experience the hometown charm that makes Fort Lupton special. Start the day with a pancake breakfast at the Fire House #1, then step outside for the crowd-pleasing parade featuring marching bands, floats, costumed characters and sweet rides. After the parade, the ‘city tour’ gets underway with attractions around town, live music, dance performances, vendor booths showcasing local artisans, food trucks & fun for all ages. For historical immersion, visit the South Platte Valley Historical Society’s Trapper Days Rendezvous, a living history encampment that recreates the life of mountain men and fur traders.
THE STORY: Trapper Days boasts a remarkable history dating back over 115 years. This beloved tradition, which started as Tomato Day honoring the cannery in town and regional agriculture, has evolved over time, but its core purpose remains the same: to celebrate Fort Lupton’s rich roots and community pride.
MORE: Fort Lupton has a lot to offer…the theme for the 2024 festival is City Tour! Move over London and NYC, you can catch the “hop-on, hop-off bus” and spend the day seeing the sites, new and old. Fort Lupton is home to a nationally acclaimed restaurant, international businesses, a new stateof-the-art library, new recreational facilities, as well as historical sites like Fort Lancaster, the Buddhist Temple, and the museum.

THE LOWDOWN: GraceFull Community Cafe is a social enterprise that partners with GraceFull Foundation, a 501c(3) with a mission to build a healthier, more connected and stronger community. They offer breakfast and lunch options made with fresh, local ingredients, with a focus on healthy and affordable fare. Their signature feature is a “pay-what-you-can” policy, allowing everyone to enjoy a nutritious meal in a welcoming atmosphere. This summer, GraceFull Foundation will reach the milestone of providing 100,000 Grace in Action Meals to the Littleton community. In partnership with GraceFull Foundation, the cafe fosters a sense of community by offering volunteer opportunities, job training programs, and events that promote social connection. Their commitment to giving back and supporting those in need makes them a vital resource in Littleton. GraceFull Foundation is also active in community advocacy around homelessness, mental health and substance use disorder and offers resource connections to cafe guests through partner nonprofit organizations. The Foundation is also invested in collaborative efforts at the city, county and state level to address food insecurity.
THE STORY: Founded in 2016 by Heather Greenwood, GraceFull Community Cafe & Foundation stemmed from a desire to address food insecurity and create a space that welcomes everyone. The team has remained true to their core mission of building a healthier, more connected and stronger community.

The whimsical names, such as the Banana Drama, and playful packaging belie the effectiveness of the apothecary’s hand-crafted soaps, candles, body butters and other self-care products.
THE STORY: Born in 2022 from life-long best friends, Kaitlyn Price and Lainey Vichiarelli, experimenting with soap-making, Banana Goat Apothecary has blossomed into a successful business. Initially an online venture, the two got an unexpected opportunity to open a storefront in early 2023. They embraced the challenge and created a welcoming haven for self-care rituals, which has won them a dedicated fan base.
