The Mission of Community Table in Arvada is to create a community where people have access to food and resources to foster self-sufficiency. For 38 years, the Community Table has been a go-to-hub for Arvada folks needing assistance with emergency food and help with issues in their life

needing specialized attention such as rent and deposit assistance, signing up for food stamps, tutoring for GED test taking, medical service for uninsured adults, referrals to other agencies for services like mental health, employment, housing and so much more.

Community Table is a Colorado nonprofit 501 c (3) corporation formed in 1982 by five church congregations to serve the needy and vulnerable in Arvada. From the beginning, Community Table has worked with city government, churches, schools, civic organizations, businesses and private citizens to ensure that the residents of Arvada and neighboring communities in Northern Jefferson County would have a place to go for emergency food. Jenny Vaughan opened Physical Therapy Plus in Arvada in 2004, working the last 16 years to provide physical therapy services to local residents. At Physical Therapy Plus, Vaughan said the goal is to really focus on each client in full hands-on, individual one-on-one sessions.

At Physical Therapy Plus, Vaughan said working to restore joint function is not just for humans, but also our K-9 friends. As a certified K-9 rehabilitation practitioner, Vaughn said when a veterinarian refers a fury friend, she works with the pet owner and dog to restore proper joint function.

Vaughan graduated from the University of Colorado in 2001 with a Master of Science in Physical Therapy. She worked in the Inpatient Physical Therapy Department at St. Joseph Hospital before opening Physical Therapy Plus in 2004. She received her Doctor of Physical Therapy degree from Regis University, in 2006. You all have watched us adapt through the years before we found our forever home in downtown Castle Rock. We have now had more weddings than we can count, celebrated the lives of people who have loved Pegasus throughout their lifetime, hosted birthday parties, and company holiday get-togethers for the best businesses around. — Janie De Lay, Owner

WHAT THEY DO:

Pegasus serves an eclectic menu with great American staples, Greek favorites and Mexican-inspired dishes made fresh from a diverse team of chefs. However, as owner Janie De Lay explains, since opening in Capitol Hill in 1984 before finding a home in Castle Rock, the restaurant industry is always evolving and always requires growth and change. De Lay said moving forward, the restaurant is still here, and brunch

will always be available, but they are working long and hard renovating to truly clean and spice things up. Pegasus will now be hosting nighttime events and parties, including happy hours, trunk shows, pop up galleries, art classes, bingo, live music and more. The front will house high-end consignment furnishings, displaying the family’s love for decorating. The back will be for brunch and cocktail parties equipped with charcuterie boards and smoking cocktails.

HISTORY: Pegasus has a long history of serving great food. Generations of locals and visitors alike have enjoyed Pegasus’ comfortable, almost familiar atmosphere for the past 31 years. “Through all the wonderful gettogethers we have all shared within these walls, we want you all to know how thankful we are for the many wonderful years in the business” said De Lay.

Bino’s Pizza is a classic pizza joint in the best possible sense of the word. The restaurant specializes in bringing the community favorites like pizza, wings, salads, pastas and hoagies. Bino’s does all these things with its own twist. When it comes to pizza flavors, there are several unique options. One option is The Hangover, which has a country gravy base, mozzarella cheese, sausage, bacon and eggs topped with cheddar

cheese. The Ragin’ Cajun is also a favorite, featuring a tomato base, mozzarella cheese, andouille sausage, spicy shrimp, onions, green bell peppers and is topped with jalapenos. For those who like a little adventure with their dining, Bino’s recently launched the With a Pizza Challenge. The challenge is for two people, and gives them a 32-inch pizza, two drinks and an hour to finish eating.

The Kiowa location has been the area’s pizza spot for years, as owner JR Prokop knows well. He grew up in Kiowa and started working at the original Bino’s, which opened in 1996, when he was a teenager helping fold boxes. Eventually, the restaurant changed into Kiowa’s Pizza Place, where Prokop also worked for about a decade. Prokop and his family bought the location several years ago to keep the business alive.

WHAT THEY DO:

HISTORY:

The nurse practitioners at Integrative Pediatric Health Care offer a holistic approach to the children that visit the Englewood-based practice. Serving as one of few nurse-practitioner owned pediatric clinics, patients benefit from both traditional and Eastern medicine. Between Mary EnzmanHines, Jennifer Gaughan and Kelly Reagan, the three providers at the practice, have more than 50 years of experience in the pediatric health care industry between them.

Patients can access a variety of services, including holistic treatment plans for illness, minor injuries, asthma, disease prevention and management, access to vaccinations and well-child visits. EnzmanHines said there are five important aspects of children’s health that are considered – sleep, nutrition, exercise, dental health and social/ spiritual aspects. For other needs, Integrative Pediatric Health Care has a large network to recommend to patients.

The practice was started five years ago, with 0 patients, and is currently up to about 3,500 patients, according to Enzman-Hines. One of the reasons for the growth, she explained, is that the new generation is seeking out different approaches to health care. Particularly, families are looking for ways to raise their children healthy instead of seeing medical professionals all the time for illnesses.

WHAT THEY DO: While Gold Mine Cupcakes may offer only cupcakes, they offer some of the most unique, creative and tasty cupcakes around. Offered in two different sizes, cupcakes include about 50 delicious flavors, including classics such as double chocolate, vanilla raspberry and cookies and cream. Seasonal favorites include chocolate mint, strawberry and toasted coconut. Some daily flavors come in gluten-free options.

HISTORY: All recipes were created by owner Sara Rutter and family, and are made from scratch. Catering and wedding services are also available. Gold Mine Cupcakes has been in their current location for five years, after spending the first two years baking in Rotter’s mom’s kitchen in Lakewood.

Baking with their grandparents and mom was a family tradition they all enjoyed, so when Sara asked her mother, a nurse, if she would be interested in retiring and sell cupcakes, Gold Mine Cupcakes was born. The family-owned shop employs six people, four of which are family members, but, according to Rutter, the other two have become like family members.

Inspiration Fitness specializes in small fitness classes that welcome every body type, and welcomes all ages, genders and levels of fitness. They offer a fun, enthusiastic and welcoming environment, with classes led by fitness instructors who are specially-trained to address fitness needs of all areas. Personal trainers are on hand to modify and tailor

workouts to safely help clients who have physical concerns, including hip replacements, knee problems, hip or back problems. They are currently offering their classes online, and encourage anyone considering getting back into shape to take advantage of their seven-day free trial.

Briganti opened Inspiration Fitness five years ago with the intention of providing a non-intimidating environment for people who were starting to see changes in their fitness needs as they grew older. Briganti has been in the fitness industry for 35 years, and found that building a community through fitness workouts provided essential accountability for her clients.

Amanda Sakach has 18 years of experience in the skincare industry, and opened Purity Skin Studio in 2017, two years after moving to Colorado, which she describes as “one of the scariest decisions I’ve ever made.” After just a year, Sakach went from being a solo businesses owner in a salon suite to getting her own store front that now has four aestheticians, one physician assistant and three front-desk staff.

Fox Hollow is a full-service hospital that is constantly adding more services and the latest equipment to better serve patients. It provides wellness exams, vaccines, a wide range of surgical services from routine spay and neuter, to dental surgery, and orthopedics. Dr. Tony Henderson opened the doors in 1996 and went from being the only doctor with his wife running the front desk, to now having six doctors and more than 30 staff members. It became a family affair at Fox Hollow when his sons, Ryan and Ross, joined the practice.

WHAT THEY DO: When Dr. Maria Hopp opened TLC The Littleton Clinic, the goal was to create a foundation of a patientfocused experience. Hopp said she makes a commitment to patients to keep pursuing answers to their specific healthcare challenges. Depending on a patient’s health concerns, this may include lab testing, radiology, and questionnaires for both men and

HISTORY: women. Once a diagnosis is created, Dr. Hopp and staff will work to create an individualized treatment plan with a patient, not for a patient. This may involve lifestyle, dietary and exercise changes that may take hard work and determination to correct. After years of not making the healthiest choices, re-programming your habits can be difficult.

TLC The Littleton Clinic first started seeing patients in February 2015 on a once a week basis in space rented in a physical therapy office. Dr. Hopp’s has been practicing medicine in the Denver area for the last 20 years and like many, has come to learn the value of proactive as opposed to reactive medicine. In March 2016, TLC opened full time in its current location.

WHAT THEY DO: Lincoln Station Coffee, Pizza and Music serves up fresh helpings of music, coffee, drinks and pizza daily. They offer music instruction on guitar, piano and voice lessons, which are performed on site while visitors enjoy the sounds of emerging artists. Colorado based Allegro coffees and teas are fair trade certified.

HISTORY: Pizzas are made of homemade sauce, fresh rolled dough and include the finest ingredients. Burritos, calzones and breakfast croissants and bagels are also available. Thursday and Friday nights are open mic nights for local artists, and Saturday nights are filled with music from local bands.

DiBartolomeo came up with the idea to combine music instruction, refreshments and live entertainment nearly three years ago. After a long work day in media sales, DiBartolomeo would rush home and take Mario to music lessons, where he often sat and listened, tired and hungry. He decided it would be nice to have a beverage or some food while he waited for Mario to finish, and Lincoln Station Coffee, Pizza and Music was born. By Tabatha Stewart

HISTORY: When it comes to big-name brands, Donahue said shoppers can get up to 70 percent off retail prices. The store is located one block west of I-25 & 104th Avenue.

Jolene and Neil Donahue opened Kid to Kid in 2017 to help their local community. They have paid back local families more than $170,000 for gently-used items, kept thousands of pounds of clothing out of landfills and donated more than 600,000 items to local charities.

Parker Vision Specialists is a family eye-care clinic that treats patients of all ages, offering patient appointments for routine eye care, glasses and contacts, including specialty fit contacts. They also have a Dry-Eye Clinic and treat acute and chronic eye conditions of all types.

The on-site optical Shoppe has a wide variety of stylish eyeglasses and sunglasses. Doctors use the latest technology in diagnostic equipment for detecting and managing eye diseases.

Doctors Sarah and Mike Bell bought Parker vision in 2006 after working as associate doctors for the previous owner. The Parker office was a small, one-doctor satellite location when they purchased it. They moved to their current address in 2009, allowing them to see patients full time. They added a third doctor in 2015.

WHAT THEY DO: Thaddeus Servantez, Aifd Cfd, the creative director of Westminster Flowers & Gifts, describes business as, “the true meaning of a local floral shop.” It’s hard to argue with a business that has served Westminster and numerous other north Denver areas for more than 49 years. Over the years, the shop has grown into a full-event company, selling

HISTORY: everything from candy and balloons to tuxedo rentals. This expansion is due to a desire to follow the trends in the floral industry, Servantez explained. The shop’s specialties are long stem roses and their custom designs, the latter of which has become so popular that Westminster Flowers & Gifts has done entire weddings.

Westminster Flowers & Gifts has been in business for nearly half a century and has stayed in the city its entire existence. The previous owner started the business out of a desire to have her own shop, and Servantez has been working there since high school.

We have a long history of bringing families together at the dinner table to enjoy high quality, all-natural meats. â&#x20AC;&#x201D; Jessica Bobitsky, Team Member

WHAT THEY DO: Wheat Ridge Poultry and Meats has been serving the area for more than 75 years, delivering grass-fed beef, poultry and award-winning sausage. Bacon cases include several types of bacon, sausage and hot dogs, and jerky and snack stix.

HISTORY: Grass-fed beef is always in stock and specialty items include turkey, duck and goose, stocks, bones and tallow. Wheat Ridge Poultry and Meats is a zero-waste facility, and their scraps are used for their raw pet food line and donated to local animal sanctuaries.

The shop has been located on the corner of 29th and Depew since 1942, when it was a family-run poultry farm offering fresh chickens, turkey and eggs. Additional square footage was added to the back of the existing shop to allow for wild-game processing.
