Job # CO 5831614 Engineering Aide Mountain View Electric Association (MVEA) is actively seeking an Engineering Aide for our Falcon Operations Center located at the eastern edge of Colorado Springs. The Engineering Aide performs a variety of engineering tasks, including, but not limited to construction and retirements of the electric system. The ideal candidate will have the ability to build and maintain good customer relations, have an understanding of the electric distribution system, experience with office and engineering software, ability to read, interpret, and understand construction specifications, safety rules, procedure manuals, easements, and legal descriptions. Must be a self-motivated individual with a high level of accuracy and the ability to analyze and draw conclusions. Candidate must have the ability to interpret a variety of technical instruction in mathematical or diagram form and deal with abstract and concrete variables. Applicant must have a valid driver’s license and a current First Aid and CPR card. Applicant must be able to successfully pass a pre-employment drug/alcohol test and pre-employment physical in addition to random drug/alcohol testing and background check. Must be 18 years of age or older; be a high school graduate or possess a Certificate of Equivalency (GED). Two years related utility experience is desirable but not required. Applicant must have a valid Class A Commercial Drivers License, a valid First Aid and CPR card. Must be able to successfully pass a pre-employment drug test, a DOT physical, and random drug testing. Must have a minimum of four years' experience operating backhoes, trenchers, and skid loaders. Must have experience digging around and installing utility lines, with an emphasis on digging ditches and backfilling trenches with a backhoe, skid loader or trencher.
