PGA Members who have served the PGA of America with honor and pride for 25 years are elected to the Quarter Century Club. Their steadfast promotion of our great sport is recognized with a letter from the PGA President, a special Quarter Century Club certificate and a gold Quarter Century lapel pin. This month, the Colorado Section is proud to feature Quarter Century Club Members Jeff Boyer and Doug Rohrbaugh.

Jeff Boyer, PGA

Where did you grow up?

I grew up in Cody, Wyoming.

What was your first introduction to the game of golf?

My family lived by Olive Glenn Golf & Country Club in Cody. My father got me started when I was about seven or eight. Soon after that, I joined the junior golf program run by the Olive Glenn Golf Professionals at the time, Johnny Miles and Steve Samuels.

Why did you choose to become a PGA Golf Professional?

I worked at the golf course growing up and didn't know what to do in college. A high school guidance counselor suggested I pursue the golf industry as a career and helped me find the PGM program at Ferris State University.

What makes you most proud about being a PGA Professional?

I am so fortunate to have had some great mentors in the golf business. Andy Spano, Steve Satterstrom and Mark Johnson were three PGA Golf Professionals who really helped me to get to my position at Eagle Ranch. The education, experience, and connections I have made through the PGA have helped me make a living and enjoy a great lifestyle.

What golf facilities have you been employed at and in what capacity?

· PGM Internships at Olive Glenn G & CC in Cody and Colleton River Plantation, Hilton Head Island, SC, · Assistant Professional at Vail Golf Club, Estancia Club in Scottsdale and Beaver Creek Golf Club · General Manager at Eagle Ranch since 2001.

What do you feel is the most meaningful contribution to the game of golf you have made?

I feel that I have worked hard to offer opportunities for kids to learn and enjoy the game.

What hobbies do you have outside of golf?

Hiking, camping, trail running, travel

If you could have a dream foursome, who would it be?

My grandfather, my father, my son, and me.

Currently the President of the Colorado West Chapter PGA and have served on the Section Junior Golf and Education Committees.

PGA Awards you have received:

Colorado West Chapter Junior Golf Leader 2012, West Chapter Warren Smith Award 2015, West Chapter Bill Strausbaugh Award 2017, and West Chapter Golf Professional of the Year 2019.

Community service you have been involved with or been recognized for:

Vail Valley Hospitality Sales & Marketing Association (HSMAI), Eagle Chamber of Commerce, Town of Eagle Marketing & Events Committee

Where did you grow up?

I grew up in Portland, Oregon.

What was your first introduction to the game of golf?

I was introduced to the game on a par 3 course when I was 15 years old.

Why did you choose to become a PGA Golf Professional?

I choose to become a PGA Professional to compete against the best.

What makes you most proud about being a PGA Professional?

Passing on to others what I have learned from the game and making the game more enjoyable for others makes me proud.

What do you feel is the most meaningful contribution to the game of golf you have made?

I have introduced the game to over 400 kids through the Aspen Jr. Golf Foundation.

What hobbies do you have outside of golf?

My hobbies include skiing and fly fishing.

If you could have a dream foursome, who would it be and why?

Because my family is the most important people in my life, my dream foursome consists of my father and two sons.
