Artisans in Kathmandu, Nepal create traditional monastery paper from the pulp of lokta trees using techniques that have been passed down from Artisan to Artisan for generations. The pulp is dyed into various shades or left in its original off-white form, dried in the sun, and hand placed in a striped pattern.
