TOBAGO FASHION CODA
In this our 5th year, I can safely say that Tobago Fashion Coda is a fixture. Over the last four years we have nurtured this all-inclusive, premium experience through many obstacles and set-backs, and we now proudly own Jazz Thursday or Coda Thursday, as we like to call it. Come for Coda, Stay for Jazz! Each year, we welcome more and more enthusiastic guests from the length and breadth of Trinidad and Tobago and beyond, to partake in this exciting fusion of Fashion, Art, Music and local Cuisine. We have also become the go to pre-event for international performing artistes booked to delight crowds during the weekend Jazz Experience. I could wish for nothing better. Dear guest, it is my pleasure to have you along on this journey, whether it’s your first Coda, or you are a returning fan. I invite you to continue to journey with us, as we explore new horizons over the coming years. Thank you to our Sponsors and Partners. As always, I say a heartfelt Thank You to our Sponsors and Partners. Without your ongoing support, Coda would not be the same. We look forward to continued collaboration with The Tobago House of Assembly, Magdalena Grand Beach and Golf Resort, the National Lotteries Control Board, Caribbean Airlines, bmobile and sightFACTORY. CLAUDIA PEGUS This year we honour a phenomenal woman who has given her life to the local fashion industry. Considered an iconic designer in the Caribbean, she is renowned for her signature work in various types of silks and hand done embroidery. The Trinidad & Tobago based designer’s work has been shown and lauded internationally, regionally and locally at major fashion weeks for over three decades. She produces two labels - the Claudia Pegus label carrier featuring her haute couture lines, and the CPFS label which produces ready wear and career apparel lines for retail and wholesale purchases by boutiques, hotels, resorts and corporations. Claudia also works as an Industry Consultant to various regional trade organizations. This year she has ventured into the ‘mas’, designing the section ‘Voyage de La Mode’ for “Cazabon” - the Carnival 2017 offering of band leader Brian MacFarlane. The Indian born, Trinidad based fashion designer creates pieces under the CLD label which exude class, brilliance, beauty, elegance, sophistication, poise and sensuality. Using fine materials with intricate detail, Charu’s garments highlight a woman’s silhouette, magnifying her femininity. Trained in Fashion Design and Marketing at the London College of Fashion, her work reaches both local and international markets. Charu also entered the mas foray this year with Mac Farlane’s “Cazabon”. Her section was ‘Felicity’. Charu Lochan Dass charulochandass@gmail.com - 222-5789
