APRIL HBA MEETING – HBA DEAL OR NO DEAL
Steve Baudo joins the SPIKE Club
T
he membership of the HBA met on April 16 at Seawell’s for a General Membership Meeting and the exciting conclusion to our 2 month long HBA Deal or No Deal Membership Drive. We started the evening with a Builder Workshop called “Remodeling for Builders” presented by members of the HBA of Greater Columbia Remodelers. When building jobs get slim, builders often turn to remodeling jobs, and there is a world of difference between the two. Builders interested in learning more about remodeling and the differences in estimating, scheduling and more are encouraged to join the Columbia Remodelers group for $95/year. The meeting began after the workshop and we got right into business. First up, we welcomed new members to the meeting. Twenty-one new members were at the meeting that night. After that, we recognized the members who bring in new members with our SPIKE Awards. Next up, we welcomed our special guest for the evening, “Howie Mandell” of HBA Deal or No Deal. “Howie” and the Banker took over the rest of the meeting and led the new member sponsors through the game. When it was all done, 20 prizes worth $100 each were given
away. After the prizes were given out, we drew one name from the new members sponsors and they won $1,000 in cash. Congratulations to Chip Daniels (represented by Andee St. John), our big winner for the night. Thanks goes to all of the members who participated in the HBA Deal or No Deal Membership Drive this year, the 20 sponsors who donated the prizes and made the game possible, and of course, “Howie” for keeping it fun. With your help, the HBA gained 30 new members. Thanks to the Sponsors of HBA Deal or No Deal (Pictured above): 2-10 Home Buyers Warranty, Bank of America Mortgage Corp, Carolina Home Mortgage Group, Clark’s Home & Construction Solutions, Colony Builders of Carolina, Inc., Covert Homes, LLC, Creative Tile, ERA Wilder Realty, Essex Homes, SE, McGuinn Group, Midland Mortgage Corporation, P & K Construction, Inc./Russell & Jeffcoat Realtors, Carolina New Home Specialists/Russell & Jeffcoat Realtors, Inc., Russell & Jeffcoat Realtors, Inc., S.
