A College E xperience That E xpands Your Horizons

A NONTRADITIONAL PATH TO A MULTIDISCIPLINARY, INTERNATIONAL EDUCATION The first of Columbia University’s international undergraduate dual degree programs was inaugurated in September 2010. The Dual BA Program Between Columbia University and Sciences Po builds upon a decade-long partnership between leading French educational institutions and Columbia University. This first transatlantic joint program at Columbia University served as a model for future cooperative efforts between Columbia and international universities, including partnerships with City University of Hong Kong (2012), Trinity College Dublin (2017), and Tel Aviv University (2019). RE-ENVISIONING THE COLLEGE EXPERIENCE While the Dual and Joint Degree Programs offer students an interdisciplinary approach to a liberal arts education, the experience of obtaining that education will be very different from a traditional four-year residential college. These programs offer students a nontraditional path, not only to their undergraduate education, but to the idea of engagement in an international educational experience. Dual and Joint Degree Program students are nontraditional by choice, making a deliberate decision to pursue an education that exposes them to diverse cultures, customs, and

contexts. These Programs attract bright, adventurous, diverse, and mature students with a willingness to listen and learn from different perspectives and adapt to changing environments. Dual and Joint Degree Program students begin their undergraduate experience by spending their first two years on campus at one of four internationally-renowned partner universities before continuing their studies at Columbia University in years three and four. Upon completion of the Programs, students graduate with two bachelor’s degrees, one each from the partner university and Columbia. Students also become members of the global alumni networks of two of the world’s leading universities. START YOUR GLOBAL JOURNEY APPLICATION DEADLINE: JANUARY 2
