For more than 175 years, Otterbein University has provided students with a first-class liberal arts education. Established in 1847, the university has long prided itself on principles of inclusivity. From its earliest days, the school admitted female students and employed female faculty members, and was one of the first universities in the nation to include students and faculty as voting members on the board of trustees. More recently, the Association of American Colleges and Universities named the university a national Truth, Racial Healing and Transformation Campus Center, the first Ohio university so named.
Today, approximately 2,500 students can choose from over 60 undergraduate and eight graduate degrees. Known for excellence in STEM and health and wellness programs, the university stresses experiential, immersive learning across multiple disciplines. Other academic programs include arts, business, communications, education and offerings in the humanities and social sciences.
Through the new career and professional preparation program, “Every Student Will Be READY,” faculty members and mentors help students hone their goal-setting to better realize their aspirations after graduation. Every student will also engage in professional immersive experiences that include internships, research and community engagement to apply their knowledge in real-world problem-solving while building career confidence. During their four years, students will build their own career plan as they consider employment or graduate study while learning the nuances of networking and personal branding. A Senior Year Experience helps develop financial literacy and better prepare for a future workplace culture.
Over 100 clubs and organizations cater to every passion or pursuit, and men’s and women’s varsity sports include basketball, cross country, golf and track and field. Women’s wrestling was added this summer as the university’s 22nd varsity sport.
Otterbein’s perfect location means students enjoy living on the picturesque campus nestled in Westerville, named one of the country’s friendliest cities, with all the big city benefits of Columbus less than 10 miles down the road.

Since its founding in 1870, Wilmington College has been advocating the advantages of hands-on learning. Students studying in areas—including agriculture, business, sport sciences, biology and chemistry, and occupational therapy—leave with the tools to thrive in their chosen fields. Graduates have gone on to make a difference in the world. Some have gone on to work at NASA and on Broadway.
Established by the Religious Society of Friends, or Quakers, the school honors its heritage by emphasizing a group of values central to its identity, including community, diversity, integrity, excellence, peace and social justice, respect for all persons, and service and civic engagement.
