Efroymson Art and Design Resource Center 623 S. Wabash Ave., 4th Floor

Designed to be a flexible, collaborative space, the open studio has tons of natural light—and a view of the Chicago skyline. You’ll have access to easels, work tables, and adjustable lighting.

This resource center provides a visual archive, including books, magazines, designed objects, DVDs, and audio related to art and design.

Visual Arts Computer Lab 623 S. Wabash Ave., 9th Floor Work on the latest professional software for macOS and Windows, with expert staff available to help along the way.

Digital Print Center 623 S. Wabash Ave., 1st Floor When you’re ready to see your creations IRL, you can visit our Digital Print Center, where we do high-quality small and large format printing, bookbinding, and more.

Interior Architecture Materials Lab 623 S. Wabash Ave., 6th Floor Get your hands on sample materials used in design and construction, and research sustainable and innovative commercial materials.

Photography Facilities Photo Studio 1104 S. Wabash Ave., 2nd Floor Our 6,800-square-foot lighting studio is fully equipped. • Shooting bays with computer workstations • Lighting gear and cameras available for use Darkrooms 600 S. Michigan Ave., 10th Floor • Black and white darkrooms • Enlargers • Access to 35mm, 6x6, and 4x5 cameras

Fabrication Facility 623 S. Wabash Ave., 10th Floor Experience 15,000 square feet of state-of-the-art equipment in Columbia’s central making space. • Tools and equipment for laser cutting, 3D printing, CNC routing, woodworking, metalworking, jewelry, ceramics, plastics, and forming • Regular safety and training sessions

Book, Paper, and Print Printmaking Facility 623 S. Wabash Ave., 2nd Floor The Printmaking Studio offers a variety of printmaking techniques in one space, from screen printing to photo lithography to etching. Letterpress Studio 1104 S. Wabash Ave., Room 209 Learn to handset type and translate digital files into photopolymer plates for relief printing at the Letterpress Studio. Papermaking Studio 1104 S. Wabash Ave., Room 201 Create your own paper from a variety of materials, including cotton, abaca, flax, kozo, and even recycled clothing at our Papermaking Studio. Bookbinding Studio 1104 S. Wabash Ave., Room 211 Our dedicated Bookbinding Studio is a sunlit space where you can create professional volumes by hand.

Fashion Facility 623 S. Wabash Ave., 7th Floor Take your garments from concept to reality in the Fashion Studio Lab. • 72 commercial machines • Computers with Lectra and Optitex software • Industrial steamers and irons • Knitting machines

Galleries Our on-campus galleries exhibit student work and the work of emerging and mid-career artists across all media.
