EJ HILL ’11 Artist EJ Hill’s work grapples with what it means for black, brown, and queer bodies to be policed, assaulted, unwelcome, and misunderstood. He contributed to the Hammer Museum’s Made in LA 2018 and won its prestigious Public Recognition Award, chosen by museum visitors.

GUY VILLA JR. ’17 In addition to teaching Experimental Typography and Book Design courses at Columbia, Guy Villa Jr. speaks at global design conferences and runs Guy Villa Design. “I always tell my students, ‘Do what makes you feel uncomfortable,’” Villa says. “That’s how you grow.”
