Creative careers are made here. The Theatre department stages about 40 productions a year, with multiple opportunities to perform, design, produce, and stage manage. Students work on a range of plays, musicals, one-acts, staged readings, and devised works. We also collaborate with Columbia’s top-ranked cinema and television programs, where Acting majors perform on camera on a professional soundstage in student-directed films. Students in our top-ranked Comedy Writing and Performance program spend an immersive semester at Second City.
AT COLUMBIA, YOU CAN: Explore dynamic and challenging minors such as Playwriting, Stage Combat, and Theatre Directing. Spend a semester in LA and meet with agents, managers and casting directors. Study off-campus with faculty in London or New York City.
