oSM and iM3nY Jv

Omega Seiki Mobility (OSM) entered into a new Joint Venture (JV) with USA-based iM3NY. With it, the OEM is claimed to have become the first-ever brand to bring US battery cell technology to India. Under the JV, OSM will produce six HIGoTM powertrains for power capacities from 7-34 kW using its own Korean technology capacities. It has committed an investment of Rs.800 crore to set up two new greenfield manufacturing facilities for manufacturing components. With it, becoming a completely integrated EV OEM. iM3NY is known for producing Li-ion batteries where it operates a gigafactory in upstate New York. Under the JV, new facilities will be set up in Haryana and Maharashtra for manufacturing powertrains and batteries respectively.
