Wasabi Bytes is the Thailand-based electronica trio with a difference—not only do their songs play well with DJs but they are an accomplished live act who relish performing on a stage. They have performed at venues as diverse as Glow, Cloud 47, Café Democ and Overground in Bangkok as well as Retro Nightclub in Sydney. With over 18,000 fans on Facebook and 5 albums under their belt including three underground international hits, Wasabi are a force to be reckoned with. Recent album Rage of the Machine was notable for two reasons... First single Deep Inside featured a controversial gender-bending video featuring actor Chris Wegoda as Frank’n’Furter. Garnering over 500K views online and the no 1 electronica spot on the online Thai Reverb Nation charts. Deep Inside—a deep house classic—also garnered radio and club airplay across the USA and Europe. Second single Rage of the Machine featured none other than acclaimed Ice-T producer and DJ Afrika Islam on vocals. The acclaimed video, which garnered over 700,000 views, captured the zeitgeist of contemporary troubled times perfectly. It is currently being remixed by Afrika for release on Ice-T’s record label. Afrika plays live with Wasabi every few months. Previous albums We Are The Future, Occidental and Tall Tracks also played a part in the rise of the Wasabi story. Debut single Tall featured a unique synthesis of Indian tablas and acid house songs with other tracks covering the gamut of house, techno, ambient and industrial. Wasabi’s body of recorded work nears 60 original songs. Wasabi is currently TOURING the new compilation album Greatest Bits which includes 10 of their best historical moments plus new tracks Euphoric and Hypnotise. Their new single RISING features an acclaimed remix by Basement Freaks. WASABI are a 3p iece with Grahame Wasabi on vox and keys, Tommy Panic on guitars and Kop Wasabi on drums. Live they have supported Afrika Islam, A Guy Called Gerald, Hugo, Unicorn Domination, Blue Hawaii and Das Fluff. TECH REQUIREMENTS: DI or instrument lead inputs for laptop, keys, guitar one mike and electronic drums. Foldback preferred. Wasabi can supply a video backdrop where possible. Set can be expanded to maximum 90 minutes from 30 minute minimum.
