Ryan Jon Meert, a dedicated father, husband, son, teacher, coach and friend passed away, unexpectedly, Thursday, June 29, 2023 due to a farming accident
Lovingly known to many as Hank, he was born August 15, 1976 in Kalamazoo the son of Tom and Marty (Bumgart) Meert
Ryan was a 1995 Plainwell High School graduate and received his Master’s Degree from Western Michigan University For over 20 years he worked for Plainwell
Public Schools as a middle school teacher and wrestling coach Ryan’s real passion was farming and was happiest after spending a long day working hard with his family on Meert Farms Ryan also owned and operated Meert Gauthier Concrete and did snowplowing in the winter A true family man, Ryan loved watching and supporting his children at their sporting events and dance competitions He enjoyed camping and trips to Disney and Cedar Point Ryan was a dedicated servant in the community, never met a person he didn’t love and was a friend to all On August 7, 2004 he married the love of his life, Shannon Wycoff who survives Also surviving are his children, Mason and Mackenzie; his parents; siblings, Brian (Karelyn) Meert and Kevin (Mindy) Meert; nieces and nephews, Brennen, Bree, Leeah, Sam, Bailey and Emma; motherin-law, Suzann (Bruce) Breuker; father-in-law, James Wycoff and sister-in-law, Jessica (Dan) Gauthier He was preceded in death by his nephew, Dustan and niece, Connor A funeral service was held at the Radiant Church in Richland on Thursday, July 6, 2023
Burial followed at Hillside Cemetery in Plainwell

He was born June 18, 1938 in Plainwell, the son of Kenneth and Mildred (Belden) Miller Ken worked at Rock Tenn Paper Mill for 48 years until this retirement in 2004 Ken loved his dogs, and in his free time enjoyed bowling in area leagues, watching and listening to country music, trips to the casino and Las Vegas, working in his yard, spending time at his property up north and traveling with his wife In 1997 he married Wendy Rankin who survives Also surviving are his children, Ken Miller, Jr and Kay (Larry) Snyder both of Otsego; 7 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; 9 great-greatgrandchildren; his aunt, Bessie along with several nieces and nephews He was preceded in death by his parents, an infant son and sister, Nancy Wiggins A private family visitation will be held and burial will take place at Mountain Home Cemetery in Otsego A celebration of Ken’s life will be held at a later time Contributions in memory of Ken may be made to Wings of Hope Hospice of Allegan

Carol (Young) PLUNKETT
AGE 82 - OTSEGO MI
Carol Young was born in 1937 and raised on a farm in Otsego, MI She was very athletic, voted as "Miss Otsego" and had numerous friends In 1959 she married Stanley Plunkett and they moved their burgeoning family to Arizona They were very adventurous, exploring every corner and aspect of Arizona, including Lake Powell, Roosevelt Lake, and the Grand Canyon Carol was a very involved parent, girl scout volunteer, and 4-H leader She was always the 'Mom' at the horse shows, that anyone could go to for a safety pin, sun screen, or a bandage They traveled every chance they could: Washington, Oregon, Michigan, and Europe, where they made lifelong friends And, to Ireland and Scotland with their daughter Signe, where they found Stanley's 4th grandfather’s home in Ireland They loved returning home to Michigan every summer They would drive across country and visit with friends and family along the way While in Michigan they were treated to the kindness of family and friends for lodging Carol kept in close contact with her friends and family throughout her life and will be greatly missed She was a wonderful mother, always willing to help however she could Carol passed away October 20, 2022, preceded in death by her husband Stanley and both of her parents, Rose and F Leon Young and are very missed The Family Service will be held at 11 AM, July 14th at Mountain Home Cemetery, 680 N Farmer St , Otsego, MI
Janice Elaine (Buxton) Davidson – Known as Jan With 90 years of living Jan’s body got tired and she laid it down to rest on June 29, 2023 She went to her heavenly home Jan was born April 4, 1933 in Plainwell Michigan to Charles and Thelma (Jackson) Buxton She loved and lived generously until her final days Faith and family were the focus of her life She loved nature and was an avid gardener Hiking, golfing, reading and travel also brought her joy She and her husband Hugh (1930-2013) built a lake cabin in the woods in Michigan’s UP In their retirement they loved summers at the cabin She was an active volunteer contributing to many organizations through out her life As a member of Zion Lutheran Church there were many ministries in which she participated that were dear to her heart She has been a faithful member of Zion since 1957 Jan loved life She made her decisions to the end, leaving this life with grace and dignity She will be forever in the hearts and lives of those she leaves behind Survived by her three children Dennis (Carol) Davidson; their children, Matthew (Romelle) Davidson, their children Marzi and Ellis; Lezley Davidson (Nico Lingg); Luanne (Melvin) Valkner; their children Joel (Erin) Valkner, their son Wyatt; Keren Valkner; Rebecca (Dick) Pasman: their children Emily (Jason) Groth, their children, Gideon, Esther, Martha and Joanna; Eric Pasman (Piper Sandal), their children, Willa, Maren, Brennan; and many nieces, nephews and cousins in the Harrington, Brooks, Powell, Buxton and Jackson families A special thanks and acknowledgement to the Vineyards Assisted Living in Texas Corners who so beautifully cared for Jan in the last few years of life and to Centrica Palliative Care Their love, devotion and kindness to her will stay with us the rest of our days From the bottom of ours hearts thank you! According to her wishes, Jan was cremated A celebration of life service will be held Saturday, September 16, 2023 @ 1pm followed by an ice cream social, desserts and family visitation from 2pm to 4pm at Zion Lutheran Church, 2122 Bronson Blvd, Kalamazoo In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the Loon Conservancy www michiganloons org/donate; Zion Lutheran Church ministry of your choice www zionkazoo org

Trina Rae Droste (Keene) had a distinct way of making everyone she cared about know how important they were to her She gave so many of us the confidence and courage we needed to deal with our own difficulties even as she battled bile duct cancer Trina loved to spend time with her family and friends, and they surrounded her with love and comfort when she passed at home on June 18, 2023 Trina was born December 27, 1967, to Donald and Karen Keene in Kalamazoo After graduating from Plainwell High School, she attended Chic Beauty School Trina always had a successful career as a hairstylist She was extremely competitive nationally and was always trying to beat her own records Trina built such great relationships with her clients and guests that she thought of them as friends She welcomed everyone into her family Trina enjoyed baking beautiful cakes, cheesecakes, and other sweet treats She was also a huge movie buff She loved watching any kind of movie and the experience of going to the movie theater She would rewatch her favorite movies, like The Mummy, over and over Trina is the most fun person many of us will ever have had the pleasure of knowing As her mother says, “When Trina walks into a room it becomes a party ” Trina’s generosity, kind heart, welcoming demeanor, and bubbly personality live on through her three children Jennifer (1989), Ivan (1992), and Jack (1995), her husband of 15 years, David Droste, and her mother Karen Having her three children together was always Trina’s favorite place to be Mason Mondays were incredibly special to her and Dave Trina was everyone in her family’s favorite person And she was a best friend to all her friends Trina was the kind of person who would give you the shirt off of her back She always raised up the people around her; as she continues to do even now she has asked everyone to wear bright colors or sparkles to her memorial service on July 14th at 11 am at Gracespring Bible Church, 8643 Gull Road, Richland, MI 49083, followed by a celebration of her life at Timber Ridge Ski Lodge, 0750023 1/2 Street, Gobles, MI 49055
