Ibagué is the capital of Tolima, one of the 32 departments that make up the Republic of Colombia. The city is located in the center of the country only four hours from the capital city, Bogotá. Ibagué is between the Colombian Andes meaning you can see mountains from any part of the city!, It is the 7th most populated city in the country with about 950.000 inhabitants. Ibagué is one of the major economies of Colombia and is projected to be one of the largest in South America with development potential and competitive national and international business centers, industry and infrastructure.

The city is called the "Musical Capital of Colombia and America" thanks to the Conservatory of Tolima (the most prestigious and important in Colombia). Its National Pageant Folklore festivities, countless monuments referring to music, and its culture and music, have officially earned Ibagué the title "Musical Capital of Colombia". Its main educational institutions are the University of Tolima, the University of Ibagué, the National Open and Distance University and Conservatory of Tolima. This city is surrounded of mountains; that’s why we have natural touristic places like gardens, eco touristic farms and spots to practice extreme sports. Ibague is a small city, full of nature and charming people, delicious food, excellent coffee, beautiful music and landscapes. One of the most renowned events is its annual folk festival, which is held in the days just before the feast of Saint John and Saint Peter. The city decks itself up for a party, and its plazas and parks become amazing musical stages where people dance and beat of traditional Andean rhythms: Sanjuaneros, bambucos and pasillos.

Crossing Borders Crossing Borders is an amazing project that combines the promotion of language, educational and cultural awareness. The project's aim is to develop multicultural learning for children in low-income schools and NGOs. This project gives you the opportunity to have a positive and huge impact in the lives of children who come poorer backgrounds and who are considered as part of the vulnerable population. We speak This is a language based project which provides you with the opportunity to teach one of the following languages: English, Portuguese, Korean, Chinese or German. You will work in a primary/secondary school and give classes to students from 6 - 16 years old, about multiculturalism and through dynamic and innovative classes teach them the respective language.
International Brothers International Brothers is a project that combines the promotion of language, education and culture, the project has the objective to achieve an impact for the kids in mode of adoption on Ibague They're kids between the ages of 5 and 18. This project will offer the opportunity to have a great positive impact in the lives of the kids and the volunteers that would develop it. During 6 or 8 weeks you will be that international friend in their life. Discover Colombia DISCOVER COLOMBIA is a project that searches to impact three cities with three different projects at the same time.
