earning Forward’s flagship publication, JSD, is the authority on professional learning for educators, and includes the most trusted and current information available about high-quality professional learning. A bimonthly professional magazine focused on leadership and learning, JSD reaches over 12,000 principals, superintendents, teachers, coaches, curriculum and instruction administrators, human resource professionals, and state and regional leaders in school improvement planning. Learning Forward’s JSD is dedicated exclusively to professional learning, with articles about the importance of professional development, success stories, current trends, professional learning standards, and great tools and tips that readers apply immediately.

Publishing six issues per year allows Learning Forward to pack in more in-depth articles, and gives members ample time to consume the entire issue before the next arrives. JSD targets those who make their institutions’ professional development buying decisions and is an important part of their decision-making process. Almost 60 percent of Learning Forward members join because of JSD. JSD provides Learning Forward members with research summaries, best practices, and case studies of success stories. Each issue includes: • Practical Articles prepared by education researchers and experts, as well as leading practitioners who bring real-world experience to the challenges of school improvement and organizational change. • Timely Topics such as technology, professional learning communities, and social justice. • Insightful Columns by experts who explore issues such as improving cultural proficiency, building collaborative cultures, and putting Learning Forward’s standards into practice.

JSD also regularly updates members on Learning Forward’s ongoing efforts to ensure that every educator has access to quality professional learning, and provides previews of resources such as Learning Forward’s authoritative Standards for Professional Learning.

Forward is real“ Learning time PD. I can read JSD over a quick lunch and be ready with multiple strategies and ideas for my afternoon staff meeting.

ith the lowest cost per reader of the top membership publications for educators, JSD is a great buy! In fact, Learning Forward’s cost per thousand readers is less than one-third that of the organization with the most membership overlap. Compare our rates and our readership and the difference is clear: we reach those most engaged in the work at among the lowest costs per impression of the leading publications in the field. More than half of Learning Forward members are involved in purchasing products and/or services for their school or district. (See the editorial calendar on page 5 for a full list of themes for 2012.) Your target audience is right here. Learning Forward members are the recognized leaders of professional learning!
