Brooklands This Places for People development is now well underway with the first residents in, brand new Primary School, roads and parkland. The 2501 homes in Brooklands will be protected from the motorway by a high, landscaped ridge which will form part of the integrated park network, linking with Broughton Gate. The first of two Primary Schools opened in September (shown as PS1 on the map) to, eventaully, serve 420 pupils. Activities for new residents and families has already begun with an active Mums n Tots group, Martial Arts and SureStart sessions. Brooklands Square will be the community and commercial centre of the Eastern Expansion Area and where the Health Centre (currently situated off Countess Way in Broughton Gate) will move to, along with further space for community activities.

Creating Space for Jobs and Future Needs

The new developments in the East mean new employment opportunities... Magna Park (where John Lewis and River Island warehouses are located) is the main employment area but there is also space for smaller developments off the future Brooklands Square and land at the Glebe. Further land has been set aside as Community Reserve Sites for use by voluntary organisations, you will be kept up to date with development proposals by both the Parish Council and the Community Foundation www.mkcommunityfoundation.co.uk.
