Westborough Since its incorporation in 1717 as the 100th town in Massachusetts, Westborough has grown from a settlement of orchards and dairies into a dynamic community with a healthy mix of residences, wooded trails, and industry. The town is located 12 miles east of Worcester and 29 miles west of Boston. The town’s commuter rail station provides easy access to Boston and Worcester. At the intersection of the Mass Pike, Route 495 and Route 9, Westborough is an ideal location for business headquarters. Spurred by the advent of the train in 1834, Westborough has been home to manufacturing, computer and telecommunications businesses. It has also emerged as an important regional center for office development, with 35 percent of its employment devoted to the service sector. Westborough’s population of a little more than 18,000 residents enjoy fine schools, extensive public services for all ages, and active recreation programs on its lakes, woodlands and playing fields. Transforming interiors into works of art Décor Custom Interiors offers something no other home decorating showroom has: interior designer and proprietor Usha. “I have customers that I’m doing their third home,” Usha said. “When I go to a home consultation, I am totally into it: [the clients’] psychology, how they’ve decorated. Then I’m committed for the rest of their life... It’s a lifetime commitment.” That dedication to her customers clearly pays off. Usha credits Décor’s success to her own love of interior design. Although she has a degree in chemistry, she has worked in interior design for more than 30 years. “I am so passionate about it,” she said. The showroom reflects that passion, with artwork, furniture and draperies displayed as they would be in a home. In fact, Usha considers Décor both a destination for customers and a version of home for her. “When I come to work, I have come home in the most serene, relaxed place,” she said. “I want a very relaxed atmosphere here. “People will ask me what’s in style. I tell them, ‘You are the style’,” she said. “If it’s your home, if you’re putting your feelings into it, you’re going to collect things over time. You’re collecting the memories of your life. That’s your home.”

Décor Custom Interiors offers the services of experienced staff, including (l to r) Roya Blodgett, owner Usha and Paula Hero.

That knowledge comes not only from years of experience, but also from her feelings about her customers, whether they are in Décor for the first time or have been back again and again. “It’s a matter of respect. I love my customers,” Usha said. “It’s a matter of respect both ways.” Usha can assist with color, fabric selection and overall design. “We have a range of price points,” she said. “I don’t care if you are spending $200 or $2,000.” Décor offers soft window treatments that range from ready-made to custom. Usha also does in-home consultations that can include color coordination, advice about windows, furniture placement, arrangement of artwork on walls and even staging. Also available in the showroom are decorating accents, artwork, blinds, furniture and beauty products. Usha admitted that she alone is not responsible for Décor’s success. Her employees are talented in their own right, she said. “They are wonderful with colors and design,” she said. “My employees, they are the body of my store, and I am the soul.” For the hours of Décor Custom Interiors at 26 South St., call 508-898-3169. The town of Northborough, originally part of the “town” of Marlborough, then Westborough, was incorporated in 1766 and became a full-fledged town with the right of representation at the Great and General Court of Boston in 1775. The early churches of Massachusetts, called “meeting houses,” were the center of all town activity. Built on land given by Capt. James Eager, Northborough’s first Meeting House stood about where the First Congregational Unitarian Church is today, on Church Street. Scattered along the tributaries of the Assabet River, numerous mills serve as markers of another kind, commemorating the places where textile manufacturing and other early industry boomed. In addition to our design work, we do all aspects of jewelry and watch repair and also specialize in GIA diamonds, bridal settings, wedding bands, estate jewelry, pre-owned high-end watches and all other fine jewelry. Along with our own creations, we carry other popular lines such as Breuning, Wright & Lato, Citizen, Cape Cod and, recently, the Troll Bead line. The Troll Beads are well known for their unique sterling silver beads and large variety of colorful murano glass, which is all handmade. Their bracelet is considered an authentic universal bracelet, as any other beads will fit on it.

In August 2000, Fernando and Andrea Fierimonte opened their first jewelry store, Anthony Andrew Jewelers, in Newton Highlands. Following that success, in September 2009 they opened a second location in their hometown of Northborough, where they reside with their three boys Anthony, Andrew and Alec.

With precious metals at an all time high, we have extended our services as an honest locally-owned family jewelry store to purchase all unwanted gold, silver and diamonds for immediate payment or a generous store credit. In today’s society we feel it’s very important to do business with people that make you feel comfortable and that you trust. Of course, product knowledge is extremely important too....once you meet us you will know we score an A+ in all these categories.

clients frequently call me 3 to 6 months prior to placing their home on the market and ask me how to properly stage the house, what colors to use for their interiors, and what improvements to make in order to get the best selling price. I find the trust my clients give me and referrals they send my way very rewarding. BACKGROUND: I am a native of Poland and have resided in Grafton for the past 19 years. I come from the hospitality business and, prior to real estate, I held management positions in the Marriott Company (Warsaw, Poland and Boston, MA). GOALS: To continue representing buyers and sellers with honesty and integrity. Together with my knowledge of the real estate market, my goal is to make the transaction process smooth and rewarding for all parties involved. If you or someone you know would like a complimentary market analysis, please call me or send me an e-mail.

Y BACKGROUND Y Fernando is a graduate gemologist who completed his degree at the Gemological Institute of America in Santa Monica, California. He brings to the area over 36 years of experience, having managed a number of upscale jewelry stores such as Goldstein Swank & Gordon. Andrea studied at Mount Ida College and brings with her over 15 years of sales experience and a strong background in business administration.

Y COMMENTS Y Fernando expressed that the jewelry business has been his lifelong passion. He hopes to steadily grow their business in this area while also helping to serve the needs of the community. According to the couple, opening in their hometown of Northborough has been a wonderful experience and they have been graciously accepted by many over the past year. “We love everything about Northborough and we take pride in the town we live in.”
